I need to know what all the settings are like bacwash filter on the valve system

Did the head come with camshaft pre fitted? Have the valve to camshaft clearance been set. is the valve timing correct? is the injector pump timing correct. have the fuel filters been changed and all the air bled out of the system? do a compression test to check for worn piston rings or damage.

Your shower has been installed for a while and you are noticing the dial must be turned further and further to the hotter settings to get a normal shower - In this case the filter on the hot inlet is getting clogged with debris. Refer to the cleaning instructions in the manual that came with your shower, or contact Hansgrohe USA by calling 800-334-0455 for the documents.

If your installation is brand new or old, debris on the filter is the number one cause of this problem. You can test it by noticing if there is a drop in pressure when you dial to a hot setting as opposed to the cold setting. The drop in pressure indicates dirt on the filter where water has a tougher time getting through.

Filters on a shower valve may seem strange to US consumers. Your old two handle valve system woul run for years without needing servicing. Now you have filters to deal with. These filters, like any filter need to be cleaned periodically and the frequency depends on the quality of your water supply system.

The real benifit, is that the filters protect your smart valve and the shower head from malfunctioning due to debris.

Try consulting the owners manual for these pool filters. It has a pretty comprehensive troubleshooting guide. It should help you figure out how to set the system up.

You will simply remove the old sand from your pool filter and follow the instructions from your users manual like you are adding sand for the first time. In case you don't have it, I am going to paraphrase it for you below.

1. Be sure correct amount of filter sand media is in tank and
that all connections have been made and are secure.
IMPORTANT: To prevent unnecessary strain on piping system and valving, always shut off pump before switching Filter Control Valve positions.

2. Set your controls to the backwash position.

3. Prime and start pump according to pump instructions. (be sure all suction and return lines are open), allowing the filter tank to fill with water.

4. Once water flow is steady out the waste line, run the pump
for at least 2 minutes. This initial backwashing of the filter is recommended to remove any impurities or fine sand particles in the sand media.

5. Turn pump off and set valve to RINSE position. Start pump and operate until water in sight glass is clear—about 1/2 to 1 minute. Turn pump off, set valve to FILTER position and restart pump. Your filter is now operating in the normal filter mode, filtering particles from the pool water.

6. Adjust pool suction and return valves to achieve desired
flow. Check system and filter for water leaks and tighten connections, bolts, nuts, as required.

7. Set your filter to the "filter" position.

Depends ...

There are two primary valve styles ... a "multi-port" and "push-pull". Never change a valve setting with the pump running.

Multiport has a handle that goes around in a circle (only move it clock-wise). You should go to your pool place to identify this kind of valve and get new lables. Push-pull goes up and down. Up is filter - Down is back wash.

If you will study your system, some things will become evident to you .

Your pump pulls water from the pool through the pump ... out of the pump into the filter. Through the filter, back to the pool. You might be heating the water (would be after the filter) and you may be adding sanitiser (after the heater). One suction - two discharges (oh, the other discharge is to waste.).

Recap ... water out of the pool into the pump - out of the pump throuth the control valve to the filter - out of the filter to the heater then to the sanitiser then back to the pool.

Sounds like you may have a bad spider gasket in your multiport valve or possibly a weak spring. Do you ever notice water coming out of the backwash while your system is set to filter? Another possibility is your screen on the air relief tube inside the filter is not in place, this will allow debris back into the pool but not alot, most if it would get filtered. Also, make sure your multiport valve is installed correctly and is set to the proper mode. There is a recirculate mode that will allow everything to bypass the filter. The label may even be incorrect.

i am assumming that you have a sand filter,to clean your filter, 1st put it on backwash and watch the little glass bowl till it run clear,45 sec. or so then turn off power, turn valve to rinse, turn power on. watch little bowl till it runs runs clear 30 sec. or so.to vaccam turn handle to waste turn power on. hope this helps

No that is normal pressure, when the pressure rises more than 10 psi over that in a 24 hour time, you should backwash the filter. Hope this helps

I am sure that you already have an answer to this, but IF you can not read the valve label sticker, call the Pentair Customer Support 1-800 number. They will send you out a new label, free of charge.

For referrence, the waste position is ALWAYS over the waste port on the valve.
