The main processor was interuppted and so has hung up or is faulty. Remove the main plug and press on the control pad of the washing machine to drain off any residual voltage that is remaining on the main board and which seems to have hung up the processor. When the plug is plugged in and switch please hold down the start/stop button.
If there is no result after plugging in the machine then the main controller board is a suspect. You can remove the control board and check the connectors, check the main door switch , if possible clean the connectors/ contacts as a last chance.

Stopped in mid cycle and wont restart

Hi....I think I can help you with this. I checked a troubleshooting site for Crosley dishwashers, and there could be a couple of reasons why the cycle stopped:
1. The thermal fuse shuts off power to the dishwasher if it overheats. If the thermal fuse blows, it will prevent the dishwasher from starting. To determine if the thermal fuse is defective, use a multimeter to test the fuse for continuity. If the thermal fuse does not have continuity, replace it.
2. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the door switch is defective, the switch will prevent the dishwasher from running even when the door is closed. To determine if the door switch is at fault, use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If the switch does not have continuity, replace it.
3. The door latch ensures that the dishwasher door latches shut. If the door does not latch properly, the door switch might prevent the dishwasher from running. If the door latch is broken, replace it.
You can also find more related troubleshooting here:

You'll need the model number for your particular dishwasher.
I hope this has helped you.

GE Dishwasher stopped working after power surge

If you can confirm that the dishwasher is getting power, then there is a very good chance the control board is bad.

My machine appears to start by emptying then filling and then emptying again at which point warning lights 1 & 3 start flashing. Any ideas what 's causing this?

Above is a service and repair manual, use to troubleshoot your machine, above that are two DIY troubleshooting sites, above that is your user manual, for all your codes etc.
Please try this FIX below, it often works regardless of cause... Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You shouldNEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method.

Dishwasher Problems

Check where the pig tail (electrical cord from the outlet) connects to the dishwasher. Remove the bottom panel and you will see the electrical wire from the wall outlet lead into a metal box. With the unit unplugged remove the facing of this metal box and check all of the wire connections. If the wiring is connected properly then the only other thing I can suggest to see if the dishwasher hasn't given up the ghost, is go to the door and open it. At the top of the door itself there is aa small slot that a metal bar on the dishwasher goes into to latch your door. With the door open take a slooed screwdriver and push it into the slot and trip the door lever over as if locking the door to start the cycle. Basically what you are doing is activating the dishwasher with the door open. Once the door latch is in place turn on the timer (keep the door as closed as possible to stop from water spraying out should the unit activate) If nothing happens then with the electrical connections at the base checked, then there is an issue with the electronics in the dishwasher and you may need to contact a service tech to trace the problem down.

Good luck hope this helped

you may be in "flood mode". there may be a leak into the base. or your bottom base hoses may be blocked, best get someone in who is able to strip a d/w base out.

Indesit D167. When cycle selected no water pumping or filling but 1 & 2 green indicators on.

Tilt your dishwasher forwards. Be aware that water will come out ouf the bottom. Once this is clear your washer should be Ok.
Good Luck
