I don't know if you have fixed the issue yet but I am going to respond anyways :). It appears you have accidently pulled yourself out of clerk mode by pressing "0" then "clerk". When you do this, you are telling the register that you have no cashier's using the register, so it will lock the cash drawer in place. To remove the close and continue ringing as an active register, you have to press the number "1" button, then the "clerk" button. This will allow you to use the register again. You can also assign multiple clerks so that you may pull individual reports if for some reason you have multiple people using the register. You just have to make sure when you do this that you hit "0", then "Clerk" first, then you can log in as Clerk 2, Clerk 3.....etc. etc. Clerk 1 will be your primary clerk and it's the clerk assigned when you first received the register.
