Question about Sharp LL T17A4-B 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Sharp LL T17A4-B (Black) 17 in.

When I power on my sharp monitor it has power going to it, but as soon as the I start to boot up the pc, nothing is displayed on the monitor (its just a black screen). I have tried the pc with another monitor and all is well (i can see it going through its boot up criteria). I have even tried to replace the graphics card. Any ideas ? Thanks Andy

When we start the computer and the monitor, there is a quick flash of the screen image, then it goes black. So far, we have managed to get it back to normal by shutting off the computer and the monitor in various orders. This does not always work though. (Tonight I was about to give up when I saw that the "no signal input" message was showing continuously. When I turned on the computer, the screen then worked fine.

The monitor is connected by a cable. The connections seem solid. The green light (or yellow when the computer is off) does shine. We turn off both the computer and the screen each night.

The monitor worked great until last night. I can't find a year on it but we have probably had it 2-3 years or so.

Are you using the digital connection?? If so try using both the analog and digital connection then set the digital as the Main monitor in your graphics card interface. To check if the backlight is out, darken the room, and light a flash light into the screen. If you can see a picture, then you need to replace the backlight. Good luck

The stand, attached at the back of the screen, has snapped and needs replacing. Can it be replaced and where can I get one. the screen is fine.

Try contacting Sharp. Places that sell them may have one laying around but I doubt it.

If you can't get one, check the middle of back of the monitor for 4 screw holes (empty) in the shape of a square, they're for attaching to a wall or desk mount.

An example of a desk mount:

Sometimes the screen goes blank and today when I restarted the computer the screen is flickering very lightly.Does this means its going?

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since the power led or button is on and all connection are corrrect, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care

Sharp light turns green thern turns yellow screen goes black

it is going into sleep mode, good luck with this.... i am currently asking how to get my hard drive to quite putting my monitor into sleep mode.

although it hasn't worked for me because my screen stays black, one of the options given to me is to try to start in safe mode and then adjust your settings to "never" on the energy/sleep/hibernate mode

some one else suggested that i remove and reseat the video card

hopefully one of those will work for you

LL-T17A4-B incompatibility with OS

go to the add a--- section under the control panel and right click on the monitor/s
click on the properties tab and then click on the compatibility tab
tick the box and click on the os you want for that computer
click apply and ok
in that properties you will also find a drivers tab , click on that and then the driver update line
it will search and download the latest drivers or come back with a message that the driver in use is the most appropriate one

Lcd monitor will not stay on

First thing to try, is to check the cable from Monitor To PC Or Graphics Card.
If you have a loose-broken internal wire, this will be the problem. Dry-Solder Joint et,c.

If the cable, has a socket either end, from monitor to computer.

try to obtain a replacement cable. The second option is to test the output source. i.e Graphics card or output to the monitor.

Hope this helps Mike @ Compurepair.

Problem with the monitor

Have you tried another monitor on the PC? If the cable and connector pins are okay, I would suspect a problemn with the video / signal board inside the monitor.
