WHEN I GO TO TURN ON MY MP3 PLAYER IT TAKES A MINUTE THEN THIS WIERD THING SAYS "UPGRADER" UP IN THE CORNER.PLESAE HELP ME BECAUSE I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT MY MUSIC.
Rio confirmed that there are fundamental problems with the firmware update, some people reffer to it as the "upgrader bug" .
You should get Rio to replace it for you, if you can't fix it with a firmware upgrade. when you talk to them, say you saw thousands of posts about this upgrader thing on the net, and you realize its a known issue.
In full sympathy,

I know this is an old post but in case other people have this same problem i want to tell you what helped me:
(i know it sounds silly but everyone who has had this problem swears by it)
just turn it off, give it a firm knock on the back a few times, and turn it back on. i swear, i had this problem and i tried fixing it the 'right way' and it didn't work, once i tried the 'wrong way' it was fine.

The design of this mp3, mp4 player is very well crafted and every minute thing is given utter importance while making it. Other than clicking pictures and listening to music this mp3 mp4 player also supports TXT format for storing eBooks. The FM radio frequency of this mp3 mp4 player ranges from 87.5 to 108 MHz. The FM radio is a great tool to catch up on the latest music apart from those stored in the playe. Everyone will ask i have a smart can do almost mp3 mp4 do, what need them? But when you are want to read a ebook, it is inconvenient. Specially by plane.
i have a jensen model# smp 2 GBL it wont play it comes on for a second then turns off. I took out the music put in new music then it played for 5 minutes then turned off and does the same thing again. I put in alot of new batteries that dont work either can you help me
if it has too many songs on it try deleting some of the songs off the player, and if thats not the case, stop using it for a few days then try to turn it on again
I don't think I am actually solving this, but I think I may have a reason why it is happening. I am having the same problem with the radio turning off after about three minutes (I, too, had to reinstall the firmware).
I think the system sees the player as "inactive" when in radio mode and shuts down after a few minutes of "inactivity" -- even though you are, in reality, listening to the radio. The exact same thing happens when you pause an MP3 you are listening to; the system will see the player as inactive (because the music is paused) and shut down after a few minutes.
Maybe there isn't anything in the system (firmware?) that can differentiate the inactivity of just listening to music coming in through an antenna and the inactivity of paused digital music?
Feel free to send this to Coby tech support and see what comes back.
Get the updated verison of the Philips Device Manager from Philips website, and then click on the Update button once you have installed the new Device Manager.
Several things to be wary of:
* a Philips player ending in "/02" is designed for use outside of the United States
* the SA5125 is incompatible with Windows Vista and Windows Media Player 11 without a firmware upgrade
Thank you for posting your problem on here. Have you attempted to replace the batteries in order to figure out if that will fix the problem? Another tip is to take out the batteries for a full minute, then put them back in. If that still doesnt work some time deleting a few items might also create a solution since the memory might be too full and not work at all.
If those still do not fix the problem you can always contact the manufacturer directly for any software updates that might fix this problem as well.
This may be caused due to damaged firmware but can be recovered by firmware upgrade. Click on the link given below to download the Firmware folder on your computer. When done, refer to file "procedure.doc", a Word file included in the Firmware folder, and follow the procedure to upgrade the Firmware of MP3 player. Download the Firmware folder at http://www.curtisint.com/html/custservice/manuals/CUR_MPS1015_FW-UPGRADE.ZIP
FYI, my mobiBLU DAH-1500i 1GB unit wouldn't boot. It would start up the musical note logo and stay there. I had to hard-boot it with the little reset button. Then I connected the USB cable and "unloaded" all files, then used Windows to FORMAT the drive (FAT32). After that it fired right up and works fine. I might try to update or reinstall the firmware if it doesn't keep working. Good luck.
upgrader word keeps coming on
