Samsung SyncMaster 1701MP (Silver) 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor Logo

Question about Samsung SyncMaster 1701MP (Silver) 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Monitor dark only when display PC, normal TV

My Samsung is dark only when display PC, watching TV, Video is normal. Color are OK - not lines, no dot no pink or color subdues. I dissemble the monitor and found 1 CCFL out of 4 is completely dead, there's another 1 (that paired with the dead one) is on and off and that one is on when in TV/Video mode and off in PC mode. So, I went ahead and changed all the CCFL bulbs and they come on nicely - all4 of them in every mode but the monitor is still dark in PC mode not the others. Not sure now what's the problems Please advise. Prasert

Hi have you checked your PC output? check it with another screen (whichever) and see if the output signal is good if soo check the cable and connections to your LCD check your PC for software configuraitions: 1) TV output 2) good resoulotion 3) media borad is strong enough to handle this LCD if all is good then maybe the TV borad is sending a low voltage/current then the LCD can see good luck

My TV display is gone only a shining line appeared. Volume is ok

Having had that problem myself with another brand I would say that either your CRT or Video board has gone out, The board can possibly be repaired but the CRT would need replaced.;

Horizontal static line screen

Your screen is going bad. To verify that it's the screen try connecting another monitor to the laptop. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker an connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok without the line on the screen then your lcd screen is bad and your video card inside the computer is good. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same line as your lcd screen then your video card inside the computer is bad.

The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

Black color displayed as green

If the owner's manual covers it, I would do a factory reset on it. I would also test the PC and video card by trying another monitor to be sure. I would check the pins for ones which are bent or broken, and check the cable for pinched spots. After that, I would say the monitor has a bad signal / video board in it.
