On the cors itself one side has either a white line or is ribbed. Just match up the correct lines and splice it back together. If you have them reversed, polarity is backwards and TV won't operate. If that doesn't solve your problem it's more than likely the fuse inside the TV where the cord enters the back.

it's time to cut the cord shorter. Disassemble and cut out the bad part of the cable and either marrette or add crimps etc to put it back together... or get a new cord cap.

Puppy chewed the cord. It is an internal cord and does not plug into the back of the tv. Can I replace it myself? Directions or diagram? Where is the best place to get the replacement cord?

Any polarized power cord will work----cautions: the cord where it connects inside will have either a white stripe on one side or a rough surface---that is the neutral side---replacement must be soldered to correct points---you get it backwards and set will work but shock hazard will exist-------if you have enough cord left you can do a splice repair-----I cut them back and offset so not next to each other(the two sides of the cord----get some heat shrink tubing--slide it over each side and down a ways---solder the two ends for each side back together (you will lose a little of the cord) and once soldered slide the shrink tubing down over the soldered parts and heat it with a hair dryer and it will shrink air tight over the solder connection's---you do not want the splices side by side to prevent any possible short----for extra protection once done use some black electrical tape and tape the whole area.

Either replace entire cord or splice repair it. Examine cord end to end for any bare wire showing---if chewed in more than one spot replace entire cord.

How do I replace the power cord on an electrolux 8502A vacuum cleaner?

1 Unplug the vacuum and remove all accessories such as extensions and brushes. Open the vacuum's outer casing to get at the end of the power cord. Exactly how you will do this depends on the model of vacuum. Generally it simply involves the removal of two to three Phillips-head screws.
2 Follow the power cord to the two connections at the vacuum's motor. Unfasten any clips or holding bracket and disconnect the cord from the motor. Sometimes this can be accomplished by unscrewing two connection screws, other times the cord is soldered directly to the motor. If this is the case use wire cutters and cut the cord about 4 inches from the motor to give room for splicing on a new cord.
3 Insert the new power cord into the vacuum. Follow the exact same path as the old one. If there were any brackets or clips that held the old cord in place inside the vacuum or out use them on the new cord.
4 Tie a knot in the cord on the inside of the vacuum casing so that it will not accidentally be pulled out of the motor once it is in use.
5 Connect the new cord to the motor in the same fashion as the old one. With wire strippers take off about 1 inch of insulation from the new cord to expose the two wires. Either wrap them around the connection posts and re-screw, or twist the new cord wires around the 4-inch remnants of the old cord and seal all exposed wire and connections with electrical tape.
6 Replace the vacuum's casing in reverse order from how you removed it. Plug in the vacuum to test.

My idiot roommate cut my power cord in two and tried to pull it out of the back of the TV. Can I just replace the cord outright? If so, how do I remove the old cord. It won't come free from the TV. dj

Hello,
You can probably replace the cord outright , but to do that you will have to take the tv apart and also purchase a new cord. If you still have the original cord that got cut, you can just splice it using **** connectors and it will be easier and cheaper. If you do take that route, just make sure you splice the same colors together, and use some electrical tape to re-insulate the cord. Hopefully this helped.
Thanks

I want to replace the cord/plug is it easy?

Malibu power packs are 1-piece units that can't be taken apart.
However you can cut off the cord and leave about 4-6" of cord sticking out, and then splice into the cord that's sticking out.

Usually I buy heavy orange or black extension cord with male-female plugs on each end.
I cut off female end and use that end to splice into the cord that's sticking out.

How to splice wire.
Use knife and slice down the cord lengthwise... just cut through the outer plastic covering.
Pull the outer cover cover back to reveal black and white wires.
Cut off extra cover.
Cut back insulation on each black and white wire.
Now you have 2 black wires and 2 white wires/
Twist together the copper wire on whites and cover with plastic electrician tape.
Do the same with copper wires on blacks.
Now the blacks are joined/ and whites are joined, and each has tape over copper wire.
Wrap black tape around both sets of wires until all the black and white is covered with several wraps of tape.
That's it. Plug it in.

Where is the fuse on the robokleen above ground pool cleaner? We've only had ours for 1 year and it stopped working. It doesn't come on at all. At first it would come on and just move back and forth in the...

There is an online manuel at this address http://74.84.137.218/website/manuals/RK01A.pdf
There is a circuit board that needs to be reset and the manuel discribes how to do this process. Make sure you are using a ground fault outlet to plug into. If there is a fuse, but I don't think there is it would be inline on the power cord. Also check the Breaker box to make sure there is power to the recepticle.

I have a Toshiba 52HM95 and the power cord was cut. How can I get a replacement power cord.

make sure you have the set UNPLUGGED!

Manufacturer
Toshiba Part Number 23372117 Description POWER CORD, 125V,

Andrews Electronics in the LA area has them
in stock--about a 3 dollar part plus shipping etc.

There is a easier way to do this if you have someone who can solder.

What you do is spice the cut cord back together---off set two cuts so the splices are not side by side.

One side of the cord will be smooth and the other have lines or rough. What I do is strip back until I get 1/4 inch bare on all 4 connections and then get some heat shrink tubing (radio shack has it) You slide a piece of the tubing on one side BEFORE YOU SOLDER TO TWO SMOOTH ENDS TOGETHER---Do not wrap them--solder them just tip to tip and repeat it with the two rough ones also putting a piece of the tube on first.

When both splices are soldered you slide the tubing back down over the place where you soldered and use a match or hairdryer to shrink it--it will shink down air tight over the connection.

It is very important you off set the splices so if the heat shrink comes off they are not side by side and can touch.

FYI--BUYING A NEW CORD? MOST OF THESE CORDS ARE SOLDERED INSIDE THE SET SOMEWHERE--which is why I suggest it is easier to repair it

if this has helped you rate this as I do it here for free.

Power cord has been cut

Yes you can replace the entire cord, or you can splice the cord back together. Get some crimp on wire connectors get a tube of heat shrink that will fit over the cord, cut back the insulation crimp, the wires back together (match color to color). heat the shrink or tape it up. Back in business.
