Question about Whirlpool DU1010XTX Builtin Dishwasher

1 Answer

Quiet Partnr 1 diswasher new, installed before I moved in to home, owner's manual not available.\r\nThe dishwasher will fill, cycle a few times then drain....ths takes about 5 minutes. I've tried various settings & differnet cyclys but the dishwasher responds the sane way each time. Also the detergent compartment does not open during the "cycle". It acts as if it's stuck on a "prewash" cycle. Any ideas or duggestions?

SOURCE: detergent door does not open during session

Sounds like a bad dispenser solenoid, or it is not getting the prompt to open from the controller or timer and it also sounds like it is still under warranty, get them out to look at it while you can.

Opened dishwasher just as it filled up to put in another glass, now the dishwasher won't wash or drain. Power button won't cut off or reset cycles. Turned off breaker, but still stuck on same cycles

You don't mention what make/model of dishwasher. Some diswashers, like my Bosch, require a reset procedure to "kill" a cycle that you've already started. They don't like to have the power button pressed during the cycle. The procedure to reset varies by make and model. If you have the owner's manual, you may check in there for the procedure.

Hi

You'll need to check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the float switch assembly. When the water fills your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If the hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is fine then the float switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

I have a problem with my Asko D3350 Dishwasher, can you help? On startup the diswasher does its normal cycle and pumps excess water out and then fills the dishwasher with water to the correct level of...

Hi Tony,

I have the same machine (D3350) and almost the same problem.

Mine starts each cycle fine - pumps out - fills - rinses - pumps out tht first load and then does not fill again. If I manually fill with a bottle (about 2 litres) for each subsequent cycle then it washes as well as it ever did.

Seeing it fills once it cannot be the water supply, nor the solenoid that operate the water supply. So, my guess is the control panel.

Like you I would love to simply take advantage of the PC Upgradeable featurewshich seemed so attractive at the time of pruchase.

Kenmore dishwasher will not fill with water model no 630.1609406. It will run a full cycle but not fill. Water was temp shut off to replace kitchen sink and now dishwasher won't fill with water. No fill...

First, are you sure that the machine is not filling?
I go on calls all the time for this problem and it turns out than the machine fills but the wash motor does not run. This leaves soap in the bottom of the DW so it looks like it did not fill with water. This is a common problem in dishwashers that have not been run for a few months, and is quite common after a remodel. If it IS getting water, the motor is probably stuck. If it is Not getting water the first step is to locate the "over fill" float inside the dishwasher. This will be a round sort of mushroom looking thing on the floor of the machine near the door on the right or left. Make sure it moves freely up and down. It will only move about 1/4 inch but If it is stuck up, the machine will not fill. If float is O.K. then check the water source. Turn of water to DW. Remove the kickplate under DW door and disconnect the waterline from fill valve (should be on front left side of unit). Run waterline into bucket then turn on the water. If you don't get water call your plumber. If you get water then you need to check the fill valve. Connect a volt meter to the 2 wires on the fill valve. Start DW. First the diswasher should start draining, then it will start filling. At this point (a few minutes into the cycle) you should see 120v AC at the fill valve. If you do see 120v Ac, replace the valve. If you don't , then turn off the machine and check the float switch. This is located under the DW right under the mushroom thingy. The switch should have continuity when the DW is empty. If there is no continuity then replace the switch.

Liquid soap mistakenly used - bubble explosion

Fill the detergent cup with fabric softener for a full cycle. Don't be alarmed if bubbles seep out.

Finish off with a white vinegar wipedown of the insides if it still feels soapy.

Hotpoint Auqarius dishwasher. I have resentley moved house and reconnected the machine. it works through programme fine but is sometimes leaving dishes gritty and not quite clean. I have cleaned filters,...

It sounds like there could be a gritty deposit in the bottom of the system. At the start of the cycle the unit takes in a set amount of water and recycles it around to the drying phase.

Try and run the diswasher a few times with no items in it - this will may help to flush it out.

If the gritty deposit coloured white this could be that your new home has more limescale in its supply. Try getting dishwasher tablets with limescale protection to see if that helps.

Finally, please ensure the spray arms free to rotate on each cycle. Failure to do this leaves grit on certain items and not others.

Please dont forget to rate.
