Re: Sony DSC-P100 lens cover won't close
Unless you know how to work on camera optics I would leave this one for the pros. Look in your owners manual for a repair depot or call the tech assist # in the book also. Now you may be able to fudge it a bit by when ther cameras off try flicking the side of the lens with your finger a few times if the cover pops out then you know its gummed up and need to be disassembled and cleaned. If it dosent come out after a few perswading flicks then you know that there is some mechanical or electrical problem that needs a service person to check out. Good Luck!

Mine was an E61:10....I think. I read on a thread that it was a lens barrel issue that could be fixed with a smack, so I closed the lens cover, turned the camera on and gave it a whack with the bottom of my wife's vintage wine glass....I picked the camera off the carpet and turned it on to find that the error message was no longer active and the wine glass was still in one piece. I rule!
