Hello,
I will try and help you here where to get a new rubber sealer for your Amana. I don't have your model or part number which you will need when you go to this sight. All you have to do is type in your model or part number in this link of amana sight I will give you, but sense this is a runner sealer issue, i would use there web site phone number, might be easier that number is 1-888-895-1535 and here is the web address to copy and paste the link in your browser. http://www.partselect.com I hope this helps and I have used them before, they are a good site and fast shipping,
Thank You So Much, and Have a Safe Holiday Weekend. Mike from Fixya,
Hello Sir,
You give up to easy, lets see if we can solve this. Did you call Amana? and if you did, and they could not help you, that is ok. There is lots of other things we can do to solve this problem. This is actually not to hard of a problem to solve and there is a lot of other things we can do to solve this. After all all you need is a rubber seal around freezer and cooler. What you have to do is be inventive, and that is what I am, that is why I am classified as a expert trouble shooter. Now we have determined of course what is wrong, not the fix is several options. Number one if you have called the place I told you, and they said they don't have one and could not steer you where to get one, then we go to plan B. Plan B is contacting a local appliance repair shop, they have hundreds of old fridges that have come in, that compressor has gone out, and they part them out, this includes rubber seals. There are hundreds of fridge and freezers your size that even different brand fridge and freezer the rubber seal will fit. The rubber seal, is just as you know a piece of rubber that goes around door opening, and can be cut with regular cutters to size. Also appliance repair stores, you can walk in there, and they even have this stuff that comes in rolls, that you measure your fridge and freezer and then cut to size and put it on. It is real simple. You DO NOT have to pay that over price from the manufacturer. Just hit up your local appliance store in your area, and most likely they can get you the rubber seal. Its not brain surgery, it is a simple seal that goes around opening, and make some calls in your area, mostly concentrate on used appliance and parts stores and appliance repair shops. Also, if you call a fridge or freezer local appliance mobile guy in your area they might have access to the rubber seal, have a roll on them, or get it for you. No, your not going to pay them to put it on or service call, your just going to call local appliance repair guys to pick there brain to get your rubber seal, and they could even tell you what appliance store has it, if they don't. Like I said this is real simple with a few calls in your local area. Thanks Mike
