Hi! I hope that you will help me with the problem I have with this certain projector (NEC LT 240K). The problem is in the part where the lens is (with cameras it's called diaphragm, but i?m not sure if it's the same name for this particular part in projector). Anyway, this part has been somehow moved so that the picture is not projected through the center of the lens, but the picture is projected from the upper part of the lens. in order for picture to be normaly projected we have to put some books (or somekind of support) under the back part of the projector so that the projector is facing towards floor. I don't know if I explained it well, but the problem is definetly not software. When we look through the lens we see this "diaphragm" moved out of its place. i hope that you can help me or at least if you know how do we dismantle it! Please answer on my e-mail. Thank you in advance, Marina
The projector is not faulty, but rather designed to project an image in the way you describe.
This allows such projectors to be mounted on a ceiling (in offices etc). The manual (which can can be downloaded from NEC) shows this pictorially.
I have just acquired the LT260 which has the same off-centre iris.
In general you have to take off the lens and take it to a specialist who repairs gun scopes or binoculars. Me my self would not disassemble a lens unless I was perpaired to replace when it feel apart after removing screws Try calling them at 1-800-338-9549 or contacting www.infocus.com as they sell lens and projectors. Good Luck
