Vist canon website, they fix this issue for free.
Hi all. Recently got same problem as others with remove lens cap when in camera mode or black screen. It is a known problem with the ccd. JVC have admitted this (at least over here in the England they have). They are doing free repairs until October 2007 even though I'm out of guarantee/warranty. Here's the URL for UK, hope you get lucky. http://www.jvc.co.uk/knowledge-list.php?id=4#0 Regards Tony

The same exact problem, let me know if you find a solution. Thank you.
I went to Canon's site when I read solution #2 (regarding the CCD Image Sensor) from Windman to see if there were any recalls on this issue. I found that that was!! Please use this link: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=PgComSmModDisplayAct&fcategoryid=227&modelid=9740&keycode=2112&id=25405 for a Service Notice: CCD Image Sensor Advisory. If this is your issue Canon will fix it for free.
If you have DCR TRV460, then try to contact Sony Service center. They have a recall on this product the same problem happened with my product and then repaired it for free for me as it was covered by recall.
A dumb answer but believe me I've had 2 customers tell me the same story and all it was "they didn't remove the lens cap" Another common problem is a stuck iris The early Panasonics were good at this. I've repaired a few but that first one was a killer. I wondered if it was ever going to fit back together so I'd advise a trip to your friendly repair shop and save yourself a heart attack, well at least until they give you the repair bill :-) BMW
I have the same problem with mine and rang jvc and they know about the problem and asked me to send it to a service center for a free repair HOPE THIS HELPS
Hi if the screens are showing all the features (time, battray...) then the LCD and viewfinder are fine it's possible that the problem is the CCD this is a common problem but its a pretty expensive fix it may be cheaper and better to buy a new 1 good luck
The image will not appear simultaneously on the LCD
monitor and the viewfinder. It will appear in the
viewfinder when the LCD monitor is in the lock position,
and it will appear on the LCD monitor when fully
extended.

My handy cam DCRPC120 NTSC power on but the LCD and lens
looks completely white. I would like to know if there is anything I could
do to fix it. Thanks a lot for your attention.
Thanks,
Roci
