Hey my creative zen xtra normally works just fine but now whenever i plug in my headphones and play the music in my player it sounds muffled and distorted. The music played sounds like the people are singing underwater. I tried every EAX setting on my mp3 player and they all make it sound muffled and i turned the EAX off and they still sounded muffled. I even erased all the music and put it back on my mp3 and every song sounds the same, songs that normally sounded fine a week ago sound muffled, and i even put in acouple different pairs of headphones to make sure that wasnt the problem but they all sounded the same. So what could cause this muffeling distorted music, maybe a virus or a problem with the headphone plug in? please help if you know of anything or what i should do to fix it

Re: Audio Problems With MP3
First thing you wanna do is to try another set of headphones. If it still sounds muffled then theres a fault in the audio output section and these things are non user serviceable. Your gonna need to send back to the manufacturer. Good Luck

Zen Nomad Xtra - to go to Rescue Mode do the following:
1. Insert a pin into the small hole on the left side of the player
below the volume adjustment switch.
2. Hold down the Play button on the right side of the switch
3. Rescue Mode Menu will appear
4. There are 4 Options available, but best option to fix most
problems is reformat hard drive.
5. Reformat is very fast
6. Turn off and reboot.
7. Problem solved.
if you can get into it easily you can re-solder the point at which the contact is broken off the board. This is a common problem. If you do not know how to solder, or are not good at opening these (it will void any remaining warranty) refer it to someone locally that does.
