How can I fix my whirlpool thin twin washer?

I was told that the timer went out on my washer so I replaced that today and its still having the same problem. It will start to run like normal and then about 3 minutes in the cycle it will stop. I can change the dial to the Rinse cycle and it will again run about 5 minutes and then stop and it won't even go on the Spin cycle. Is there anyone that can help? Please let me know. My email address is [email protected]

It almost sounds like your motor is kicking out on overload. The fact that it starts agitating after the fill can rule out the pressure switch. You have installed a new timer so we should be able to rule that out. It's possible that your pump is binding, which is attached directly to your motor and causing it to overheat. To tell for sure you would have to check the motor to see if it's getting power when it cuts out. Check your terminal block where the power cord comes in to see if all connections are secure. Other possibilities could be the clutch and brake assy. With out being there too see the problem, this is where I would start.

Also carefully feel the motor housing to see if its overheating as it should get warm to the touch but not HOT HOT.

Whirlpool ite6234d thin twin could someone tell me in detail where the belt is located in the washer?

I can not find your model number that you posted.
I can tell you that all whirpool thin twins up to last year were direct drive with no belt except for the dryer section. Whirlpool stackers from the early eighties did have a washer belt if yours is this old replace the entire machine.

Our Whirlpool Thin Twin model#LT7000XTWO will not start when pressing on the start button.Washer works.Could the problem be the starter button or the timer switch? Thanks, Ernie C.

Hello birddog44,

Happy to help you.

You said, Our Whirlpool Thin Twin model#LT7000XTWO will not start when pressing on the start button.Washer works.Could the problem be the starter button or the timer switch?

If the washer works, I can only assume, you are talking about the dryer not starting when you press on the start button.

I believe that it just might be the start button.
Is it a gas or electric dryer?

You have the Whirlpool Thin Twin model#LT7000XTWO

How old is this appliance?
The model # sounds like an older model.

If the appliance is 10 years old or more you may not be advisable to put good money into bad! New appliances are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy.
Therefore they pay for them selves in only a few years.
You can buy New and save today.

Find the small privately owned and operated appliance store and you will get better service and good treatment! They also will be the best informed!

Bless You,
huuum

LTE6234 Whirlpool Twin Thin Timer Broken?

Check for voltage at the water inlet valve with the timer dial pushed in or in an off position. If no voltage replace the water valve. If you do have voltage you'll have to trace the circuits back from the water valve to the line. One point of demarcation is the water level switch. Pull the violet colored wire and see if it still fills while off. If it does it's likely the timer's bad.
