Scanner Hi there, please help me, my scanner dont want to scan i have reinstalled the printer manya times but no go i get the eror 1706"no valid source could be found from product scan. thanks AMANDA

The 52 error in most HP printers is not reversible, you must replace the scanner if the is cost worthy.Might want to unplug printer from the power source for 30 minutes and retry, before changing the scanner unit.
Basically, you can use the scanner in two ways. Please open the scanner cover and place the document or image you want to scan face down.
1. Press the SCAN button (color button = color scanning, black button = monochrome scanning). then your scanner will scan the document or image in the scanner tray.
2. Go to the scanner program installed in your computer when you installed the printer. Open it and then click the command button SCAN.
Note: Make sure that you installed the Scanner software when you installed the printer. Without the software, your scanner will not work. Please reinstall the printer including the scanner software.
Have you tried deleting the scanner from add/remove hardware under control panel? If not, try disconnecting it from the computer, then try deleting it, then retry the install one more time.

Are you using any HP Printer and if the answer is yes then
uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers, and it would probably be a good idea to get the latest drivers from the manufacturer's site first - and use that for the reinstall.
