SOURCE: Blinking lights on KitchenAid blender
Alternating blinking lights on a Kitchenaid blender indicate a bad circuit board which is unable to run the motor properly. Unplug the blender, take the jar off, and turn the spindle by hand. Then plug it back in. If it does not work properly, try a different outlet (perhaps not in the kitchen). If nothing works, the blender needs to be repaired.

need to resolder the triac located on the Printed circuit board this part is on an aluminum heat sink, and the third leg is most of the times the one with a broken or poor soldering joint due to the vibration of blender

to see if its the Triac or just the off button perform this: connect the blender, while pressing the off button press the on button; if the blender stays on and you dont hear the relay function (Light ticky sound) maybe the off button get a broken solder point. But if the relay is functioning and there is no way to change the speed the problen is the TRIAC. This is a small piece on PCB with a heat sink

When the lights are flashing, this does indicate that an electronic part has failed. This blender is no longer manufactured, so finding replacement parts for it may not come easily. Repair centers are available. I would recommend calling Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what they can recommend for you.
Their toll-free number is 1-800-541-6390.
SOURCE: Blender now only has one speed and it's overspeed.
there is a voltage regulator inside the circuit board , this might have got wet some how . this circuit controls 1-10 speed from a touch of a button . will have to disassemble unit , Auth personal should check this , unless you know electronics
