This older vcr still produces good vidio,
however there is a problem with the audio.
The audio quality is ok but the volume is
very low.The TV volume must be set to max to
hear comfortably.
Any suggestions???????? Gilbert

Have you tryed to clean the ace head??? The ace head means audio-control-erase. and is on the right side of the mechanism. this head looks like a big cassette type head and is statioary. This head can be cleaned just like an 8-track{remember those??}or cassette head by applying rubbing alcohol to a q-tip and clean the head from top to bottom. this head also may need cleaning if your tapes seem to speed up and slow down for no reason and at random. Thats because the lower part of the head is the control head and that gives the machine pulses to tell the machine what speed the tape is recorded in then the capstain motor has an fg sensor(freqency generator} and they all go thru a comparitor and the sum of both pulses gives the machine the proper speed setting. Hope this was laid out in understandable english. Good Luck

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. ensure your cables are plugged into the red and white ports in the back, that controls the volume on the back. If your using the red, bule and green cable you still must use the red and white.

I have an Emerson Combo Model EWC19T3 and a Emerson DVD/Vidio remote that is not working. I desire it to turn on and off the TV, raise and lower the volume and go to mute.
The only information inside the remote is listed below:
342;01HB;x3 Triple Combo;BNE200F01011;NECIC;sum3AA;ECR6:15v;N9353UOBW012
The TV is hooked up to Directv, the remote has new batteries
YOU CAN USE EMERSON CODES FOR YOUR ADMIRAL TV AND TV / VCR COMBOS, MY COMCAST REMOTE ACCEPTED 11911. SOME REMOTES NEED FIVE NUMBERS AND MY ADMIRAL ONLY HAS THREE. SO I USED AN EMERSON CODE AND IT WORKED MOST OF THE BELLS, NOT ALL WHISTLES WORKED BUT I DIDN'T HAVE TO GET UP TO TURN IT ON, CHANGE THE CHANNEL OR THE VOLUME. MY KIDS WON'T DO IT ANY MORE!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

There may be an audio adjustment in the dvd player that wasenr set up at the factory correctly. depending on how old the unit is I would contact the manufacturer and see if its under the factory warranty as you DO NOT wanna go inside and start turning controls as this will or could throw the entire alighnment out of the dvd player. I(f theres no warrantee then you could ask them if theres an audio output adj and what the pot # was. Or else your gonna need to get a service manual and throw ya back a few bucks. But my guess is that if you bug the service guys enough they will tell you where the adjustment is. Good luck
