I have a 50 inch Samsung plasma t.v and my kids watch Disney a lot and soon The Disney logo burned into the t.v it was like that for a while then other logos started burning in and soon we were scared to watch something caused everything burned in easily. How do we get rid of it and how do we prevent it?

This happened to us last month with our 50 inch Samsung. Most common problem is overheated capacitor, our problem was the main fuse. Couldn't find anywhere locally for the ceramic fuse, but found online at amazon. We didn't have the hundreds of dollars for a repair shop, but found out how to do it from a you-tube video, can't find it now, but do an internet search and you will find several. Our biggest thing was finding a place to lay the tv face down. Did it on the kitchen table with several sleeping bags to protect the screen. Did have to remove the base, not too hard. Lots of screws to take off the back, this and that. But if you're a little handy, have a phillips screwdriver, you can do it.

A solid blue line would imply that the lower buffer PCB has a loose connector or a bad buffer. Some plasma TV have these buffer ICs build right into the ribbon connector of the panel. At any rate, if you plan to have the TV repaired, STOP USING IT. Plasma panels are notorious for burn-in when viewing stationary images (station logos, video games, etc.). The blue line IS stationary and if you keep watching it, you will see the effects even after you correct the original problem.

The most likely thing i have found is to replace the Plasma panel , which is expensive, or u can try replacing the x-sus printed circuit board or the y-sus printed circuit board. Good Luck.

Sounds like a stressed area gave way. Plasmas are high vacuum tubes with a lot of unsupported surface so your problem may not be uncommon.

From your description it sounds like image burn-in. That is caused by some parts of the screen having many more hours of use than the others. In most cases due to a smaller screen format only using a portion of the screen. Your set has a feature in the service menu to even this out by burning the rest of the screen back into proportion. Please only let a pro attempt this. Hope that helps answer your question.

I have found the most common problems with the symptom you have described, to be the SMPS PCB. Sometimes the Y Main will cause the power supply to short out and lower a voltage in that area. Your set has a two year warranty. Call 1-800-Samsung to find an authorized servicer in your area.
