System restores don't work too well. The virus/trojan has usually embedded itself beyond the restore, you're free to try it, however.
If it doesn't work, I would suggest some anti-virus/spyware scanning software. Here are two, one for viruses/vulnerabilities/some spyware and one dedicated to spyware. Both are absolutely free.
http://housecall.trendmicro.com runs from your web browser (I would suggest using Internet Explorer).
http://www.download.com/3405-8022-5153545.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5 This is Ad-aware, it will remove the spyware on your computer. This one needs to be downloaded.
If those do not work, then you have two choices: reformat the HDD (low-level format in some cases), or take it to a professional who can save your data and remove the trojan successfully.
Additionally, you can try Googling the trojan by its name and you'll usually find removal instructions. Symantec and Microsoft have the most accurate methods.

The same idea is with this Trojan virus. It hides in an suspicious program and when you run that program it starts to do some damage.

Trojan horse virus' can be very tricky to get rid of sometimes. AVG is one of the best out there for this but sometimes it cannot do it all. It just depends on what kind of virus it is. First of all, run a complete scan with "Spybot Search & Destroy". It is a free spyware removal tool. Make sure the dat files are up to date on all of these cleaners. The run a scan usin "AdAware". It is a free adware removal tool. Then after both of them have run, run a complete virus scan again with AVG. Most virus' out there now are in the form of spyware and adware and are downloader trojans. They download files in the background without your knowledge and really lag your computer. You will also get lots of pop ups while surfing the internet. I hope this helps. Let me know how it turns out?
you need to press F8 while the pc is booting for a startup in safe mode, then when in safe mode select start windows in safe mode, go to my computer, properties>system restore tab and turn off system restore and then run the scan again as these trojans cannot be deleted when the pc is in normal use.
If your antivirus finds them but cannot heal, make a note of the file that has the trojan and then search for the file and delete it manually.
Ensure after the trojans are deleted that you tuirn system restore back on
