Hi there! I have a problem with my CDX-R3000 from SONY.My child it has introduced my engine key into the pins of my car player,not in the Detachable Face Panel,but in the stable part of the player and my player now don't want to work.When I put the detachable face panel,he have all the lights on but on the display he have just some light sticks in all directions and don't want to work,not cd,not radio,not any button,nothing.Maybe I must go to a pro? Or is it a solution that can I doit myself? Please help! I love my CDX-R3000.Thanks. - Costin,Romania.

SOURCE: CDX-S2000 Volume, Source, and Mode buttons not working????

Hey jshaff, try taking off the detachable front, and you will see a reset button, press and hold in for 10 secs, this should solve your problem. if it doesn't work first time keep trying. you must have power to the head unit for this to work. you will hear the cd make a noise and that should be that, try and let me know.

SOURCE: cdx L-280 display gas failed.

It is definitive the LCD display that is gone on the detachable panel. As much as I remember they can be replaced but am not sure about the cost.

Hi
Error 04 is a CD Problem its either need to be clean or CD inserted upside down
if there is no media inside try to clean with a cd cleaner it should help unless the laser unit is not good

This is a link to Sony for your CDX-R3000. In box number 3 is a diagram of the back side of your head unit for AUX rca's.....the cable is not included.

MY Sony CDX-R3000 will only play CD's. It will not allow me to adjust volume, skip songs, or play the radio
Try and reset it . disconnect battery under the hood for like 5 min and see what happens ..I had that radio and sometimes its just tempermental . take cd out and try it ? Sre any buttons stuck ? If that doesnt work then hopefully u like your cds at the volume they are at . Good luck

Won't turn on
remove the detachable face plate and look for the gold contacts thats plugs in with the main unit , get some Qtip and alcohol , and clean contacts ,try that , hope it works AJ
