How do I connect a Protron PLTV 3250 to a home theater system. Do I use standard RCA cables or do I have to have something special

Standard RCA cables are fine to connect both units. If home theater and tv has Component Video (Green-Red-Blue) connections, you can get better video result.

Original remote is hard to come by, try EBAY, without orignal remote you may nat be able to access all the on screen setup functions. Watch out for the power supply module to go out on this TV.

My TV will not pwer on, I have replaced the ac power cord and made sure the switch was in the on position that is next to where the power cable gets plugged into the tv. The blue led lite in the front is...

This is common problem with the PLTV-3250, the power supply DC filter caps go bad, 5vdc standby transistor and diode shorted out.
Check the power supply; look for bad caps with leaking/bulging tops, check to see if you have standby +5vdc at the power supply connector, the front red indicator will not be on if you do not have this +5vdc standby voltage due to shorted out Q7 and ZD4.

My protron pltv 3250 totally shut down. doublechecked powersource.please help.

Protron pltv 3250 power cord

It is the same power cord as used for your PC, NEMA5-15P to IEC C13.
This TV has known problem with power supply, so keep an eye on it.

Check the fuse, if it is blown, replace with exact same one. Try again, if it blows again, its a power supply problem for a repair shop.
