Fixing horizontal line problem

I'h happy you told me the problem, now if you could provide how to fix it I would be greatly happy. Thanks.

    Also does hitting the TV in anyway do anything? LIke say if I were to hit it on the side a little bit hard, could that do something to the horizontal line problem, or the vert sweep?

If hitting the set gets the vert to come back then you have bad solder connections on the vert. outputs.. If it dosent then your gonna need to measure the voltage first on the vert output IC see if its about 24 or so volts If it is replace the IC. If its not the replace the vert B+ drive capacitor off the flyback xformer. If you cant find these things then your gonna need to get a schemtic from sams photo facts and post the vertical section and I will tell you or assist youin this repair. If you have had experience in soldering and curcuit work your already ahead in the repair. post the schematic.

I hate to give you bad news but about 90% of the time horizontal lines come from a bad panel and if that's the case the set isn't worth fixing as a panel costs hundreds of dollars

Fixing this old of a TV would be a waste of money as unless you have the testing gear and expertise you would be guessing. Just buy new and be happy. You could also join a book club and give up watching TV altogether. LOL

SEVERAL BLACK HORIZONTAL LINES ON COPIES
You need to locate the source of strikes.
1) remove toner crg., if it has black lines or dirts on drum replace drum.
2) check/clean copy glass
3) use flash light to check fixing section ( Left sideway of copier small doors ) if damadged replace fixing assy.

Give it time to warm up like another 10 to 15 mins i find put a tv guide channel on the screen stays pretty much the same picture, then leave the TV on" i use a 4 hour rule if i dont view in 4 hours or more i will close tv power

Ive got bad news for you, about 90% of the time black horizontal lines are caused by the panel failing, your going to need a new TV. You can try replacing the timing board but the chances of it fixing it are slim..

Try changing the H/V position in the TV Set Up menu. You can adjust the horizontal and vertical position of the screen and move it enough that the green line disappears from the screen.
