My toshiba regza wont pick up any channels it thinks it doesnt have an aerial but i have had an aerial fitted and i know that it works because we have a freeview box that we run through it which we have to use to watch the tv. can you help? also we purchased it so we could watch the laptop through it which worked at first but doesnt work now.

Check your aerial is working plug in another tv you know is tuned.

Program remote to code 061, then see if the channel selector is working.

Check and replace its tuner. It is faulty.

I have the same problem with not much help from the store where i brought my TV from, they sell their items but as to good old after sales service it is non exsistant unless you are buying. They suggested it was the co-axial cable and also said the most likely factor is if you have a VCR connected then each time you want to watch TV take the aerial out of the VCR and put it directly into the TV, good one if you want to record on the VCR, this doesnt help the problem. Same you, I am still stuck with reception problems. By the way I have a 42' digital in the Loungeroom with VCR, DVD, Surround Sound all hooked up (& to same aerial on roof) with no reception problems, the one I am having trouble with is small digital TV in bedroom (room is next to loungeroom). I am on the Gold Coast in good reception area. Wonder if anyone has found a solution yet.

go to menu put it on dtv scan channels/if not its aerial

replace the power cable of your toshibal tv from 3 pins to 2 pin type.

this is becuase of the earth of the TV, thats why it is better not to eart the tv.

The most likely problem is the aerial system you are using in your new location. It could be either the position of the aerial needs to be adjusted or the cable coming from the aerial has a problem, check the end connector that goes into the Tv to make sure it is wired correctly. Also check with your new neighbours to find out what quality of reception they have, it's possible you may in a "weak" zone for picking up a freeview signal.

If you put aerial up your self was it wide band aerial ?
Is it in the atic or on the roof ?
Have you used decent quality cable (not the cheap stuff)
How long is cable run from aerial ?
Have you checked that when you fitted rf plugs that none of the braid strands are touching solid copper inner core ?
Ask an earial installer or Tv shop what the signal strength is like in your area.

the best thig and easiest way would be to reset everything and start overthose things have so many differnt settings but to start turn it off then on the right side it has a power button, hold that power button down for 5 seconds and its reset.
