Lost my manual and don't know how to send a fax. Not sure which tray the document goes in. Can you help?

Directly from HP's manual on this printer:

Send a basic fax

You can easily send a single- or multiple-page black-and-white fax by using the

control panel, as described here. If you want to send a color or photo fax, see the

onscreen HP Image Zone Help.

Note If you need printed confirmation that your faxes were successfully sent,

enable fax confirmation before sending any faxes. For more information, see

Print fax confirmation reports.

Tip You can also send a fax manually from a phone or by using monitor

dialing. These features allow you to control the pace of your dialing. They are

also useful when you want to use a calling card to charge the call and you

need to respond to tone prompts while dialing. For more information, see Send

a fax manually from a phone or Send a fax using monitor dialing.

1. Load your originals, with the print side up, into the document feeder tray. If you

are sending a single-page fax, such as a photograph, you can also load your

original on the glass.

Note If you are sending a multiple-page fax, you must load the originals

in the document feeder tray. You cannot fax a multiple-page document

from the glass.

2. Press Fax.

For more assistance with this printer, you can go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=441125& and download the owner's manual. It is in PDF form, so you will need adobe reeader which you can get for FREE at http://www.adobe.com

Sent faxes have vertical lines

The 6012 has a small glass strip under the automatic document feeder (adf) that needs to be cleaned. If it's dirty it will cause the stripes you describe. Lift up the lift the cover of the adf, now lift the lid as if you were loading an original on the glass. Lift the adf feeder mechanism (lower half) there you will find the glass strip. Clean it with a damp sponge or rag with windex or other non-abrasive glass cleaner. Do not spray glass cleaner on the strip. Close it all back up and that should take care of your problem if not let us know! Thanks for using fixya!

Describe your hp laserjet 3330 ?

The problem may be in the machine you're sending to, if you get a copy thru the adf or on the glass with no lines, it's the same image you would send thru fax. Check the narrow glass though, I usually find white out on that glass and have to clean it off.
