I have a problem with my brand new Casio Ex-S500. Every time, when I turn it on, I have to set up the time/date/resolution/etc. When the camera is turned on, it's okay, but next time when I turn it on again, I have to re-set all these again. The battery is good, charged, I don't know what the problem should be. Please help!!!! Thank you!

Re: date/time/resolution problem w/ Ex-S500
There ccan be 2 problems that cause this. First most backup memory us powered by a button battery. They can be hidden and sometimes had to locate may require a fingernail to lift a panel. On the cano cameras its under a little door where the USB plugs into.
Second could be the amout of time between use. Some may use a little cap with is like a small low voltage rechargable battery. If the camera has been sitting a few weeks its possible the little cap is draining over the time its not in use.
You may have to dig out your manual to see if it says anything about a button battery. Or you may need to call casio
There is a firmware update for your camera located on the casio site that fixes some problems maybe this is one of them? it wouldnt hurt to update your firmware because it fixes someimage quality issues. Remember to recharge your batterys first before you do it. Read the warnings

If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality
variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure
cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid,
because the camera shutter fault.
just set it to english if the list is blank call casio to see if they can send you the flash program to reset the internal settings.

Remove the Back and front covers, then use a small flathead screwdriver to release the 2 hinges that hole the lens assy down; then unlatch the 2 ribbons cables. Now you can install the new lens assy. If you're not going to use the "old lens assy, can I have it, please? Thanks.
