Won't pump. Says it is brewing but nothing comes out. Used paper clip to check for built up grinds-nothing. Used toothbrush to clean the hole where water gets pulled into the machine. Still doesn't work. First time this morning it only brewed about 2 oz. of coffee. Then, without K cup, ran about 4 oz of water a few times, then ran about 12 oz of water-all on same setting. Now it won't run at all. Thanks for your help. I need my coffee!!

Does the pump come on (do you hear it?) but no water comes out when you make coffee?
When you select Hot Water and open the steam valve, does the pump run and does water come out the steam valve?
If you hear the pump running but no water is coming out - then it could either be that the pump needs to be primed. In that case you would select Hot Water and open the steam valve all the way and let water run out the wand for a minute or two.
If the steam wand delivers water but you don't get any water when you brew coffee, then either the coffee is ground so fine that the water cannot go through the coffee grinds OR the filter disc may be plugged up. Try grinding coarser and try removing the filter disc and cleaning it with a toothbrush - hold the disc to the light and verify that you can see through all the tiny holes.
If it pumps water for coffee but you don't get water out the steam pipe, then the steam wand may be plugged with hardened milk - in that case remove the plastic frother and soak it and clean it. Also use a bent paperclip to clean the hole in the end of the chrome steam pipe.
If the pump doesn't run at all and you don't hear any pump noises ever - then either the pump has failed or has a loose wire.
If you already tried the previous suggestion (grind at the most coarse setting) and you still get no water, it may be the SBS brew valve.
As a test, run a blank shot by telling the machine you are going to add preground coffee but don't add any coffee. When you start your shot you should get plain water (probably tea colored as it flushes out some old coffee left behind from previous brews).
If you still get no water, then it is either your brew filter screen is plugged or the SBS brew valve is plugged.
Remove the filter screen and hold it to the light, can you see through all or most of the tiny holes? If not, soak it in a good coffee detergent and scrub it with a toothbrush until the holes are clean (DO NOT USE A NEEDLE TO CLEAN THE HOLES).
If it is the SBS brew valve, you can open it fairly easily to clean it but there are a couple of tiny parts and a spring so be careful.
And final thoughts - the SBS brew valve can be defective - I've had some that were too tight and simply wouldn't allow any water to flow at all. But since yours was working before, it probably just needs cleaning.
When I descaled my b60 I also used a paper clip to clean out a possibe clog in the little bottom drainage tube. The help I received suggested I also use the paper clip to check the top tube which I didn't know about. I did this and now it works fine...thanks for your help.
Check the bgrew group screen to see if they are clean and clear also under the top screen theres a small hole make sure that is clear also? Has the brew group ever been degreased this is if there is water coming out of the wand if no water there you have a internal blockage or pump problem
Your brew unit is probably dirty and needs cleaning. However, it won`t always help just running the cleaning program. Try to clean out all the used ground that is stuck inside the brew unit; use your fingers or a toothbrush maybe. Then run the cleaning program. It may be smart to run the program once or twice after this too, but you don`t have to use the tablet everytime.
It is the grounds blade that holds the used ground container so you can`t get it out. This means that the brew unit stops in a wrong position, and don`t get back to grinding position before timeout. If you shut down the machine for a few hours, it usually moves back during startup. But of course; this indicates that you need to clean up inside...
Hi Are your coffee grinds wet? If they are you have a clogged brew head. Remove the filter screen. Then remove the 2 screws that hold the outlet manifold to the brew head. There are 3 things under the manifold. O-ring, tapered spring and a crystal ball. Don't lose any of these items. Now to clean the brew head turn the brew unit over to where you can see where the brew screen was. You will see 2 holes, 1 large and 1 small. Take a paper clip and straighten it. Turn the brew unit upside down and insert the paperclip into the small hole. Push the paper clip through and remove the plug. I have seen them over 1/2" long. Reassemble the brew unit crystal ball first, small end of the spring on top of the crystal ball, place the o-ring over the spring and place the manifold on top making sure the outlet pipe is to the outside of the brew unit. Put the 2 screws back and your ready to go. Run a detergent for espresso machines like Cafiza through the brew unit every once in a while to keep it clean. It doesn't take a lot of detergent and use the pre-grind setting and a large cup selection but don't put any coffee in.
