Re: no picture or sound
When the red light is on, can't you turn it on by pressing channel up on the set, or power on the remote?
If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages.
Its possible that a capacitor has gone bad. You'll need to work on that, and then readjust the set. Not a major repair.
When you open it up look for dry soldier joints and resoldier if necessary.
good luck

If you can see the faint picture in flash light means the power supply and the main board is working. The real culprit is the backlight. Even one bad LED in the backlight will switch off the whole array. To repair this fault the panel has to be opened and the defective LED or LEDs are to be replaced.
This is a complicated, delicate and risky job and must be attempted by an expert only. You may end up damaging the screen permanently if you have not done it before and try to DIY.
it may be a turbocharger if so equipted, lots of turbocharged cars whistle as the unit gets older..only other thing I can think of is something with the exhaust system.. get it looked at by putting the car up on a lift and inspecting it..now some cars also whistle thru the radio ..this is called alternator whine and is usually correected by a filter in the power line of the radio...good luck
Sounds like you blew the A/V and HDMI connector on the back of your ps3. If it still has it's warranty I would send it back because this problem sounds serious.
turn tv on picture comes up 2to3 seconds later tv blacks out then stand by red light flashes 4 times in a row repeatedly..can not turn on or off when stand by light starts flashing but before tv blacks out you can turn tv on and off repeatedly and picture and sound work. You have to unplug power cord for 30 seconds after stand by light comes on to get tv to turn on.
I own a Sony T.V. model #KV36HS510, Serial # 9024184,Event# E36002407 and it"s aTrinitron brand name. Like the problems before no picture or sound, stand by light on front of unit flashes. When trying to turn it back on you can hear the power click, like it wants to turn on, but does not.
ok. the FLyback is the large black part on the lower left corner.. has large red wire comeing from it... the HOrizontal.. is the large black transistor right in front on the left side on the largest heat sink..getting these parts are tricky.. you must get some numbers on the part itself..there are three different flybacks.... and the horizontal is ussally 259899 rca part number. Good luck and if you need any more assitance email me at FORDTV.com ; I work on alot these chasis
