Can i hook my westell 327w to a linksys befsr41

Absolutely, it is as simple as plugging in the westell to the befsr41. However all that will do is split the cable so it can accomodate multiple devices. BUT, the befsr41 is a wired router, to go wifi pick up a wireless router. This wireless router replaces the befsr41. I like the linksys (Cisco) 1000 or the 2000. If they have the Wrt54g thats best. Good luck! Dont worry it is pretty simple.

Do i need a wireless router if i have westell 6100f

Yes. The Westell 6100f is not a wireless modem, therefore, you will need to get a wireless router to connect wireless computers.

Or if your ISP is Verizon and you want a wireless modem/router, you may contact them and replace the Westell 6100f with a Westell Versalink 327w, or Westell 7500, or an Actiontec.

Hope this helps!

I have Verizon DSL service on my Westell 327w. It

whenever the connection drops, is the DSL light blinking?
because, it is just normal for the E1 light to blink, but the DSL light should be solid at all times.

It can be a possible issue with the cable or the LAN card, but you still need to have your line checked by Verizon to make sure that it is not a modem or a network issue.

How do I hook up my Westell wireless router to the zhone modem so I can use my laptop. I have to use a dedicated line with a zhone modem to get DSL service. I want to hook up my wireless router Westell...

Connect the Westell wireless to the Zhone as if the Westell is the PC that used to be connected to it. Then connect the PC (through any available port) only to the Westell. That's the WIRED connection. For the wireless to work, after connecting through the WIRED connection, there should be a CD that came with it that will help you configure the wireless.

How do i connect my second computer to my westell 327w

is it a wireless computer or the wired computer?
I believe the main computer is online.
Check the settings on the router.
You will need to open the router set up page.
here you will see the settings of the router.
If you are trying to connect to the wireless network then make sure that you are typing the correct network key.

Westell model 327w

you can run another ethernet cable from your westell modem to your laptop. hence, if you want your laptop to connect wirelessly, it must have a wireless card/adapter inside. if it already has a wireless adapter, it should automatically detect your wireless network and you just need to connect to it (note: you need to enter the correct wireless security/network key if you have enabled it on your modem). by default the serial number is the ssid of the router and the wireless security is disabled. but if you are not sure of your wireless security, log on to the modem's web user interface by typing http://192.168.1.1 on your web browser's address. then go to the wireless section and verify your wireless settings from there.

hope this'll help you.

ciao!

the wireless won't work. i have the same problem. westell modems aren't compatible with wireless function on some laptops therefore routing signal through a wireless router allows that. it can be done, i've done it but after modem was reset having issues. keep searching it can be done...

thanks for the vague and non-informative answer though whoever that was.
