I did that also, but i think i accidentaly deleted a file that was in my mp3 player, while i was deleting some music the file name was LYRA_SYS. I think it had something to do with that.

Well, yea. you deleted the system file. You can basically count on it not to work after that. Try a firmware update/install, maybe it will update the file system. Should be available on the RCA support site, if anywhere. Good luck

My gpx MW249s 2gb mp3 player keep saying error everytime i put a new battery in it. But everytime i put a old battery in it, it workS what can i do

Check the voltage and ampere output of the old battery. Make sure that the new battery that you're trying to put in has the same voltage and ampere output.

There's a possibility that some components of your mp3 player requires a specific amount of voltage / ampere out.

However, if you're putting a new battery with the same exact output, then you may need to verify it with the manufacturer. Because, this will be the first time I heard that an electronic device will give an error after replacing the battery.

Thank you and good luck!

My mp3 is just straight up broken

Out dated anyway...replace; cost between $9.99 to $14.99 (512) or $14.99 to $24.99 (1gig) or higher. Walmart or other dept stores..even walgreen have them on sale. Most cheap units cannot be repaired or cost to much to do so. Please forgive me if you don't agree. This is not a reflection on your ability to purchase a higher cost MP3..just a cost saving solution.

Battery, turning on

Batteries can go bad even if they are not used. The battery may be past it's expiration date. Just try putting in a new battery.

Not turning on

This happens to me on my Lyra MP3 player when my battery is low. If you have a fresh AAA battery in it, and it is in the right way and your lock on the back of your Lyra is OFF, and you still only get a blink, then you have a defective unit. Return it to RCA and get another one.

Wont turn on

Remove and reinsert batteries - if that fails, go to RCA website for firmware upgrade - if that fails:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

If that fails, it's dead.
