Re: dvd no picture just sound
When you say No picture?? s the Picture all black Like theres no video? Try checking the video input on the tv or the cables from the player. If the inputs and cables are bad then theres a poroblem in the video processor in the dvd player and the only way to vix that would be to get a schematic diagram and a scope and trace out the video and see where it disapears. Good Luck

I just had that same problem with my Pioneer dvd player. I found the online manual for my dvd player. For restoring the default settings simply turn off your dvd player, then press the STOP button on the front panel of your dvd player while turning the dvd player on again.
try resetting defaults Place DVD player in standby mode Push in the stop button on the hardware unit and keep pushed in Push in Standby button on the remote provide while doing the above Then put into standby mode again insert your DVD and see if it changes. All Happiness
The problem was the TV ( Samsung CB 5073 T). One or more connections
on the AV plug in the TV had disconnected from the soldering and was repaired. The DVD was fine all the time.
Thanks again for your assistance
Most DVD players I've seen are either multi-regional or one-region units. The DVD player you bought might be a one-region device. I'd check on that first. If it is, then you'll only be able to play DVD's made for that particular region. If it is multi-regional, look in the manual or go to Pioneer's website to possibly find the codes.
According to what I learned from Pioneer parts department the infared deam/light/reader has burned out. Cost of replacement is from 59.99 to 89.99 it shouldn't be to difficult to replace if you have some type of mechincal aptitude.
