I have a JVC Home theater system model #THA30 The disc tray does not open for playing cd's or dvd's. The radio works fine and the Aux function works ok also.
I unplugged the unit for two hours and the disc tray would open but after turning the unit off or changing from dvd to radio it stops working again.
Thanks in advance
H.L. Allen

Arnt they seperate things? ive seen some systems that dont function if thery are not in that mode. If its in DVD mode nothing on the DVD works, if its in the radio mode maybe the power changes over to the tunner only? you cant play both at once maybe their idea. Will things work when its in the cd mode? Is the unit staying cool?

Sounds like there may be a glitch in the microprocesor. Make sure when you unplug it that you leave it along for a few days and is there any type of clock or standby batterys in it take them out as well. If that dosent correct the problem your gonna need a service manual to trace the switch pulse to see if the units Switch matrix lines are low or lost because of a faulty micro or a bad componet like a small caps they install on the matrix to keep noise off them. Hard one to call with out seeing unit and analizing unit Good Luck

You have to use an external device to convert NTSC to PAL or vis versa. The device cost between 175 to 250 $. I think you can buy a small new generation multi system TV for that price !!!!. If you still want to buy click on the below link.
Hi Blackhawk,
This sounds like you've accidentally set the "tray lock" feature.
You can set this to stop unwanted tray ejections: I hope this solves your problem.. Warm Regards Mike
it sounds like the tray has come off the guides a comon problem with kids pushing the tray in rather than pressing the button. if the teeth on the track are ok then it is just a case of opening it up and putting the tray back
On the unit, press the stop button and the cd eject button at the same time. The screen will say locked still. Release them and press them together again at the same time. The screen will now read unlocked. You can then eject the cd.
I fixed the same issue by forcibly pulling individual trays to their open position. I removed the casing to gain better access (tons of screws) but you can probably gain clear access to the shelfs without removing the casing if you have good needlenose plyers. I found a stuck CD within one of shelfs, wedged WITHIN the moving components of the shelf. It works perfectly now.
In response to your jvc-a75r DVD player, sometimes the solution might be less complex than it may appear. Had the same problem with my Samsung s321,the machine refused to read DVD's but would play CD's no problem. Simply opened up the cover(usually)4-6 small screws, and found my dog's hair inside of the player covering the laser eye.Electrostatic ionization
attracts dust, etc. into the player remarkably well sometimes. Carefully used a cotton swap to remove debri. PLayerworked fine afterwards
...Good luck!
