Question about Olympus m:robe MR-500i MP3 Player
When i turn it on it blinks nd says system failed i think something is very wrong can someone please help me and how do i get this fixed and will all my nformation be lost
Its a good possibility that the hard drive could be damaged from a drop or sharp inpact of some sort. Now if you say you didnt drop it then the hard drive probly needs to be formatted and yes you will lose all your programming. Send the unit to the manufacturer to get an estamate or take to an authorized repair center.

The same thing happened to me. One of the solutions was that if you took the mp-3 remote and while holding the on button;on the remote you would also push the little heart; the mode and the play buttons all at the same time. Well when I tried this it did not work and nothing changed. The other solution which worked very well was to take the back off via the 4(four) little screws and there is 3(three) wires coming from the battery and going to a plug....... Unplug it wait at a minute at least. That should and will reset the camera's disc drive. Because of this fairly easy task (other than the tiny screws that jump all over the place) my camera is back in action and like brand new.....fantastic!!!!!!!!GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY PIX...................................................

Apple has reported that they have had several bad "batches" of hard drives. Your best bet is to make an appointment at your local "Genius Bar" (the Apple Store Tech Support counter) to have it checked. They will be able to connect it to a diagnostics unit that identifies the serial number on the drive and determine if it's listed in one of the batches. They will also be able to tell you if the unit can be reinitialized. However, the bad news is that in just about every scenario you'll lose the data on the device. That's one of the reasons it's so important to keep it syncronized with the iTunes on your computer!

Do you have the remote for this unit and if so have you attempted to do a reset?

Check if the hold is on. if it is, then it won't turn on, and says that.
