Question about JVC DRM10 DVD Recorder
CHECK IC8001 (AK5365AQ)

I am experienceing exactly the same problem. it started a few weeks ago, when a strong noise appeared while watching/recording TV through this JVC DR-M10SEF DVD recorder. Then last week I did experience my first flashing "loading" problems. It is going away when pressing during a while the "open" button. Now since yesterday the noise is occuring when playing DVDs and the only way to get rid of this problem is to unplug then replug the recorder (which leads to the loading problem) and then press "open" for a while!! What a wonderful human-machine-interface method! I thought first that the problem was on the hardware, but now this looks like a software problem. Does anybody know if the firmware upgrade fixes such problems? In advance thank you for your feedback!

NO it dosent sound like there related problems at all. Now you say you get interferance or is it more like a static noise only when using the dvd player??? If thats the case then you have an output device problem as its breaking down and crackling into your input to your sound amp or the tv. Its a problem that will need to be traced with a scope and a test disk. as it could be a D to a converter or an op amp IC, or even as simple as a filter cap. Good Luck

SOURCE: DVD/Video recorder blinking
This is an issue for this machine. It happened to me, and after some internet research, I found that JVC acknowleged it (on their web site). The unit was still under warranty, and JVC had me ship it to them for repair. It was fixed... for about a year. It started doing the same thing recently. I only had enough time to discover that I hadn't purchased any extended warranty, then the thing quit altogether. Wouldn't even power up, wouldn't eject the tape or DVD that were inside. I gave up, and took the case off to recover the tape and DVD. What I found inside was what looked like any DVD or CD drive from any computer. Since I had a case for an external IDE drive, I hooked it up to my Mac using that drive. Good news! Not only did it eject my DVD when I pushed the button, I found that my Mac with OS X Tiger recognized the drive! With absolutely NO software installation (not even a driver), My Mac now burns DVDs beautifully on that drive using Toast. At least I salvaged something really good from that piece of junk sold by JVC.
