The DVD reader/writer works only when playing a disk. When a new disk is inserted it normaly takes a minute or so to load (probably also formating) then the disk is ready to record. Now when a new disk is inserted it says "load" for several minutes and then says the disk is bad. I opened the unit, then the disk player and cleaned the lense although I could see nothing on it. After re-assembly it worked the same, I beleive the disk unit needs to be replaced but cannot find a place to buy it. The only label says "loader B1.8z". I'd appreciate any help. Thanks, Russ
I rec'd this unit for christmas '06 and it was 6 mos. before I tried to copy from VHS. I only have made 5 disks, now I have the same problems everyone else is having.
I've called Samsung. I've downloaded the firmware update and loaded. I've reset the machine (got one extra recording for this feat - for a total of 6 disks made in 2 yrs).
Now it won't play regular rented or store-bought disks. The same problem as someone else mentioned.
My 100% fix for viewing rented or purchased dvds is: to insert the disk, while the unit says "load", repeatedly press the play button on the remote. Sounds simple, but I'm at 100% on dvds that wouldn't load when I just put them in and waited for it to read. And I've had to do this many times.
I've given up on recording onto dvds on this machine, though I'm wondering if should have purchased more expensive blank disks.

I have a Samsung DVD VR320 which has suddenly stopped stopped recording my -RW discs. I have replaced all my old discs and cleaned the heads, but still have the problem. The unit plays pre-recorded discs OK and there is no loss in the picture or sound quality. The new discs format OK and appear to be recording, but when I try and play them, I get an error message and have to power down the recorder to eject the disc. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.
My Samsung DVD-VR330 player/recorder has stopped loading disks reliably. Most of the time it shows "Load" for a long time and then the disk tray opens and the message states that the disk cannon be played. A new disk, a recently formatted disk, an R disk, and a pre-recorded disk all have the same problem. Is something wore out?
Can play the dvd but when I put in a new disk it gets an error so I can't record. It was working and then all of a sudden it started having problems
The disc never gets loaded and after some times gives a message that disck cannot be played. When I eject the disc, it is really really hot. Not sure what to check or fix to recover my DVD VR320.
Samsung DVD are F****** SH**..i have 2 of these nothing but problems..i bought a different lower branded DVD and works perfect...SAMSUNG IS UTTERYLY WANK!
