Is the button stuck? can you turn it back to the left position with the still camera icon? does it turn but stays in video mode? If its just a stuck button, put some special electronics lubricant on it(NOT WD 40!!) and try gently turning it, but it might be a better idea to open it up and work on whatevers keeping it stuck, if you dont trust yourself with it then take it to a reapir person or leave it alone - you're better off keeping your little video camera than nothing at all. If the button turns but the mode stays on video, try a reset/ try removing the batteries for 24 hours, then putting back again/ try new batteries/ try a new mem card. If all fails, use the warranty if you have it, or get a repair estimate and decide if its economical for you or not. Good luck

Is it a switch or a dial? have you tried new batteries?have you removed them and let the camera sit with the batteries out over night? The button or mode switch could be bad.

When camera is turned on no picture appears in the viewfinder or on the LCD screen, it remains black. The batteries are new. I can access the menu, change settings. Everything works but there is no image...

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Everything appears to be working on my camera however i cant see anything on the viewfinder its always black. I can look at pictures ,take pictures with flash, but they are black, please can you advise

If your camera is an SX110 IS, A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. However, if you made a typo, and your camera is really an SD110, the problem would then likely be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free worldwide, and may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Polaroid i737 doesn't have a setup menu

The camera was "Q-Mode", which causes only an abbreviated menu to appear.  By taking the camera out of Q-Mode, which is done on an entirely different menu and not made clear at all in the owner's manual, the Setup menu is available.  The Setup menu is the key to everything in this camera, so my advice is to not keep the camera in Q-Mode.

Faulty d40x

I would start by looking at all of the push buttons on the camera. One may be stuck down.
