Hi The issue is with the belt that is worn out or bad and
should be replaced; if that is loose/broken will usually cause a squeaking
sound. After replacing the belt if the control panel will still not work then
check the thermal fuse located inside the back panel on the blower wheel
housing, if that is bad control will not work. If you want to do this yourself
then you can check this parts diagram. Hope this helps...please post back for

the plug or the outlet is too small? There are some different styles for these, starting a handful of years ago, they are starting to use 4 prong outlets, so it may only be a simple matter of changing the outlet or the plug, depending on your choice of the two.
