Question about Kodak EasyShare LS443 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera Hi, I have a Kodak EasyShare LS443 and the Camera Shutter keeps getting stuck. As far as i know there are no other problems because it worked fine and then the shutter became a problem. It sounds as though the lens is trying to come out and then the camera turns itself off. Have you a solution for this problem.

I have kodak ls443 get error message camera error e45 and it says see users guide. i have looked in users guide but cannot find andy info re error e45

Firstly, at the link below you can download a updated softcopy of the manual for free.

As for the error code you are getting, "error 45" is a lens related problem of LS443.

If the lens is not stuck, you may try to download the firmware from the Kodak site and update the one in your camera.

As the lens is already stuck, there is no choice except to send the camera back to Kodak for servicing.

Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

Kind regards

How to unlock the camera kodak easyshare ls443

If your memory card is locked make sure that the white tab on the left side of the memory card is in the unlock position.

My Kodak Easyshare LS443 is taking black pictures

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see the following for further info and a simple fix that may help:

i have the same camera Kodak LS443. Min. cost to repair starts at $175.00 there is a chip that is faulty. Problem is you cannot just replace the chip other parts are involved. Kodak is aware of this problem but they will not recall this camera, if you send it to them for repair it will cost you much much more. On Ebay last week there were alot of these LS443 cameras guess what !! all were been sold for parts they almost all had the same problem no pic in the viewer just black, I really loved this camera but will never buy a kodak again, there very hard to repair. sometimes not even repairable.

Problem with LS743

Sorry but there not lying to you, these LS443 kodak camera's are very expensive to repair everything is hooked together, one part goes bad and you have to replace just about half the camera. For a camera thats suppose to be worth $500.00 it is a real lemon as far as Kodak camera's go. I have a old Kodak DX 3700 3.1 and it works great bought it on ebay for $20.00 and had it for 3 years and have used it alot, my point is the LS 443 has many more features but it was not made to last, Kodak screwed up they are aware of all the problems with this camera but will not stand behind the product

Kodak LS443 EasyShare camera

Hello friend....Please help me to find the problem with my Camera Kodak Easy share LS 443.....

Thank you very much for your time.......

Won't take a picture

If you research this camera online, you will find this is a very common problem with this model. My research says it is due to the internal shutter becoming stuck in the closed position. Some people have reported success by smacking the camera against the palm of their hand as they turned the camera on - this didn't work for me. I read of at least one individual who was able to open up the camera (camera was out of warranty, and was about to be a total loss anyway)and physically unstick the shutter. I have opened up mine as far as I can find way to get into it and still can't get to the actual shutter - hope you have better luck. I ended up going with a new camera at a more disposable price.

Camera Problem

I have been reading a lot of posts from people with similar problems. Apparently, when people try to fix this camera, they are told that the parts are no longer carried and are told to buy or upgrade to a new camera. I am interested in hearing more experiences from people on this camera. I work for a consumer rights law firm and we are investigating this. You can contact me at [email protected] Thanks, Abby
