Wet phone Cannot be heard from phone.Possibly needs microphone replaced. I have an old LG10 phone, can the microphone out of it be used,and is it a difficult repair?

If it happens during all calls, then it's not a mute button.

Chances are the microphone portion when bad, got wet etc.

Take it back or get it serviced :)

Please remove the condenser microphone and take it any service shop or spare parts shop to get a replacement. Unfortunately we are creating more junk in our World by throwing away such electronic units when most of them can be repaired and used.
You can slavage this from any old set but since time is our greatest enemy we tend to choose the short way. I hope you try to get this and try to get this replaced and working. Hope I could help this way/ Good day

Hi, i think the body of the phone might be broken and it's allowing the screw area to be loosed, that's why you need to press before someone can hear you.

In cases like this, you will have to check the screws first if they are firm enough holding the phone, and also if the body of the phone is not broken somewhere around that area.

If is the screw, check if it needs to be tighten or replaced.

For the body, if broken you will need to get a new body to replace the old one.

Or better steal, you can use a rubber band to hold it.

the microphone is due for replacement. Get another microphone and replace it with the old one.

But before you do so, open the phone with screw driver, clean the microphone area on the phone as there may be dust preventing it from working.

If it still does not working after cleaning, then go can go ahead replacing the microphone.

You also have an option of using handsfree (earphone) still you find time to replace the microphone.

Based on the information provided it sound like the microphone has malfunctioned and these microphones can be replaced. BUT FIRST CHECK TO MAKE SURE DEBRIS IS NOT CLOGGING THE MICROPHONE HOLE. LOOK OVER THE PHONE TO FIND A SMALL HOLE WHICH MAY POSSIBLY BE FILLED WITH SOMETHING. ( hope this is all but...)

If the phoneis less than a year old, it was purchased by you from the provider andit is in the exact condition is was when purchased you should attempt awarranty claim through your cell phone provider.

Canyou recall an incident that occurred to cause the device to begin tomalfunction?. ie Dropped, exposed to liquid? If so, you can visit thisrecommended repair center for an out of pocket solution.

i think there is some miscontact in the microphone or the microphone is damaged ...
you can solve this simple problem by just replacing the microphone ...
if you are afraid of opening then just take your cell to technician
...
get the microphone replaced .. this doesnt cost much ..
as u have told that it is not even 1 yr old so if you have warranty then just take the cell to the showroom from which you buyed it

I have a lg vx8300 and am having similar problems. This one is my 3rd replacement phone. The 1st one got wet, but I managed to save it by quickly taking the battery out and allowing it to dry out for a day. Then it worked great. 2 weeks later I dropped it and it worked but, when I talked to someone on the phone, they could hear me, but I couldn't hear them.

Hands-free device worked great with it.

The 1st replacement phone had too many problems to mention. Another customer at Verizon said he had already had 3 replacement phones for the same model and warned me that the replacement phones for that model were defective,

The 2nd replacement phone had microphone issues. I could hear the caller but they could barely hear me.

I now have a 3rd replacement phone and am being told that I can barely be heard on this one as well.

I have also seen other people in Verizon with the LG vx8300 returning replacement phones as well.

The original phone was great. I really liked it. But the replacement phones for it do not have the same quality.

I have resorted to using an old LG phone that is 5 years old. The clarity is still exceptional.

I will not deal with Verizon again to replace the defective phone. I have already spent 10 hours altogether waiting in line.

The way it looks now, I'm not so sure that having insurance to replace a phone is a good deal. I had to pay $50 for 3 defective phones.

My advice is to keep your money, save your old phones when you upgrade. Then if something happens you won't have to go through the time and agony of trying to get a decent phone to replace the one that got damaged.

This was a very timely and frustrating endeavor. In the end, for all it was worth - time and effort - Verizon still came out the winner and I came away with a black eye.
