I have a rca rear projection tv
model R52WH74
when i turn it on the led light blinks with a cherp sound it does this 3 times with a pause between blinks then shuts off
if I hold the on button in it blinks a 1-9 code
i have unpluged it for 2 days and pluged it back in and it does the same thing

Thats a deflection issue. You can get the ITC222A deflection board Bar code PSB-260 from www.tvrepairworld.com which will usually fix the 3 blink error on that model
Please intimate exact model of your Sony TV and also mention how many times red light blinks as there would be pause of 3 seconds in blinks so count pause to pause and let me know to find out problem. How old is this TV and did you replaced its lamp? Thanks.
the 3 blinks is definately meaning the flyback is defective. You need to replace the flyback its number 259296 you can get a replacement flyback at the following link with free installation instructions with step by step pictures of the repair. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
ALL of you have a problem in power supply/deflection board 3 capacitors open located cp150 2200uf 16volt and two 220uf 35 volt, check them first then resolder around FBT other wise order new deflection board 125.00

Good Day greetings from me. Please verify or be specific about blinks. 1 LED blink then 9 blink code. I this the number of times ? or 1 and 9 appear? If so pls. check the error coding in your Users' Manual, it is found in the Troubleshooting Pages..Then give us the instruction of each number.... If your set is newer,then you have your warranty, call the store where you purchased. This kind of problem might be in the Stand By circuits , an IC or Microcomputer chip is defective....
