Question about GE WDSR2080D Top Load Washer

GE WDSR2080D5WW Top Load Washer

This lovely GE WDSR2080D5WW Top Load Washer is only 1 1/2 years old... I cannot get rid of it... and will not. The problem is that it will not spin, and I am not sure about agitating, however, I do know that it will drain. The belt is still brand new and tight enough, and of course due to my hearing loss, I can only feel that the motor seems to be working fine.. kind of like humming. I did this once: picked it up and kind of dropped it down, it did spin... only SHORT time, ended up that I had to take the "test" load to the laundromat and finish it.

I have the same unit, about 3 yrs old. The problem I have seems to be the air switch that controls the water level. It also controls the spin cycle by telling the timer unit that the tub is empty and ready for spinning. Either the hose is clogged or the pressure unit glued to the tub is clogged. I hoper that helped! Good Luck!

Sounds like the agitator is bad not hard to replace look up on internet agitator replacement for that model

check the filter and drain pipes are not blocked

GE WDSR2080D5WW wont spin or agitate

The coupling might be bad. Take cabnet off by removing 2 screws from counsel, then flip up and pop 2 clips and the cabnet will pull away from machine. Then pop 2 clips off pump down in front of machine then take the 2 quarter inch screws out of the 2 clips holding motor then you'll see coupling. Any questions call Chris's r Repair at 716-258-1944

How do you take the cover off of a GE model wdsr2080d5ww

standard way is to remove all screws around the top cover, including the ones by the lint filter, then prying from the front with a little force as most units have spring clips at the front, and hinge clips at the back

GE Mod WDSR2080D5WW won't drain

The last one I repaired had a 2 quarters in the pump.
Remove the hoses and inspect the pump for coinage.

GE top load will fill with water, not spin, agitate, empty water

very familiar with this look under machine if black dust found it has a broken motor coupler, very easy to change
