What is wrong with my xbox it says error 65?

Error 65: DVD Drive Error.... DVD Timeout, Wrong firmware, dvd is without f/w chip, etc. This can also be caused by the tray not being fully closed on boot.

Flashing red:
1.the av cable cannot be detected
Make sure that the AV cable is correctly connected to the Xbox 360 console.
Disconnect the AV cable from the Xbox 360 console, and then reconnect the AV cable to the Xbox 360 console.
If the four flashing red lights continue to flash, try wiping the metal area of the AV pack with a dry cloth. The metal area is the end that plugs into the console. Wipe the metal area thoroughly, and then try the AV Pack again.
If the AV cable is correctly connected but the four red lights are still flashing, substitute a different AV cable if you have one available.
2.general hardware failure
Try restarting the console.
If restarting the console does not resolve the behavior, follow these steps:
Turn the console off.
Unplug all the power and AV cables from the console.
Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
Firmly reconnect all the cables.
Turn on the console.
If these steps do not resolve the behavior, turn the console off, remove the hard drive, and then turn on the console. If the 3x Red LED error light is no longer displayed, turn the console off, re-attach the hard drive, and then turn on the console.
Also examine the lights on the power supply. When you turn on the console, the power supply light should illuminate green even if the three lights on the RoL flash red.

The specific type of hardware failure can be determined by a "hidden" error code
Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.
Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.
You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.

Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:
All four lights flashing - 0
One light flashing - 1
Two Lights flashing - 2
Three lights flashing - 3

0001 power supply problem
0002 Network Interface problem
0003 Power problem could be the PSU could be the GPU/CPU, somehow the console isn't getting clean power from the power supply.

0011 over heating - If you are receiving this error after disassembling your console make sure to all 8 of the heatsync screws are tightened securely to the board/heatsink holes.

0021 DVD Drive Time out - Can be caused by problems with a firmware flash. This is also speculated to sometime be caused by a problem with the southbridge chipset on the motherboard.

Red light on power supply on. Nothing happening on the x box console. dead.

Hello,

The blinking red light usually indicates hardware failure. If your Xbox is still under warranty you should contact microsoft have them send you a box with free postage and send them your console. They will locate and fix the problem for you.

If your console is not under warranty anymore there are a few things you can try.

First remove the hard drive and try booting up your console. If it says no drive found shut the console down and put the hard drive back into place. If it works after that then the issue was just a drive error which is now corrected. If the light is blinking again then the drive itself is bad.

Second turn the xbox off for 60 seconds by using the switch on the back. Now hold down the eject button and turn the power switch back on while your still holding the eject button. This can help with overheating issues.

If these simple fixes dont resolve the problem then you will need to contact microsoft and ask about repair cost's. As fixing it yourself would require experience in working on gaming consoles.

Re: Blinking green light/won't detect disk drive

If you still have a warrenty sticker call up Microsoft and tell them that your Xbox 360 has overheated, and tell them your serial code. They will tell you if your warrenty is expired, if it's not they will ask you where you live then pick up your Xbox 360 and fix it for free. If your warrenty has expired try this. Power off the Xbox 360 and when it is off press the eject button, it might open they tray. Or try opening your Xbox 360 and remove the disk drives cables from the disk drive and the motherboard and put it back together, you should never try the towel trick really, although it works it can also give your Xbox 360 3 red lights then you have to buy X-clamps and theormo paste, just do the X-clamps and theormo paste when you get one red light. I have had two Xbox 360's, when I did the towel trick it burnt the GPU, the other one a little componante came loose, sorry for my spelling. Hope this helps =D

Xbox bottom right ring is blinking red

This is taken off of teamxbox.com

It is an explanation of the bottom right light blinking red, how to tell exactly what it is, and so on. If there is general hardware failure on your xbox, microsoft posted on their site that you send it in for free repair and also get 3 year extension to your warranty.

Use this guide to determine exactly what is wrong, what hardware is failing, and hopefully we can figure something out. Please get back with me when you can, I would really like to get you up and running again, cause I know how it was when I couldnt play my xbox, I hated it. Good luck!
