  1. Check to see that the player is in MSC mode by going to the USB mode section in the "Settings" menu.
  2. Plug the SanDisk Sansa MP3 player into your computer.
  3. Click on the "Start" menu.
  4. Click on "My Computer."
  5. You will now see a drive for the device and one for the SD card.
  6. Double click on the "Sansa device."
  7. Select the music file you wish to delete.
  8. Press "Delete" on your keyboard.

Go into the file menus, open the music folder and chose delete all. I see if I can find the user manual with details.

    To delete files:

    Delete File
    In Resources Manager, you can select music or video files, long press VOL key to display delete Dialog box,
    select “Yes” to delete and “No” to cancel. After the selection, short press "MENU" key to implement the
    selected option.

    Another way to delete files is connecting the player to a computer and deleting files from computer.
    If you cannot delete files one by one you can format the disk inside the player, this will delete all files.

Delete the files from your device the easy way...follow these instructions below:

BIG WARNING: DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release,right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
ONE MORE BIG WARNING: BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.

How do you delete recorded music from the vp-02? I have searched for a manual with no results.

hi,
please follow the instructions to delete any song or music track from your player.
  • Switch on your PC or laptop and connect the MP3 player via USB port!
  • After your player is recognized, go to My Computer!
  • Double click on the Player's logo (sometimes you notice it as removable disk).
  • Now you can see all the music track available in your player.
  • Click on the track you want to delete. Now right click on the track!
  • In the drop down menu, Click on delete.
  • For deleting multiple songs, while clicking on music tracks that you want to delete, Click on Control (ctrl) button.

Deleting files

You have to plug the mp3 player into the computer, double-click My Computer, double click on the icon of the GoGear, and then go into the Music folder - exercise caution: only delete music files - if you delete files that are non-music files, you will effectively destroy your GoGear.

Windows Media Player is more complex, but it is a safer way to delete songs:
