Hi
You have a virus, worm, trojan, etc on your computer.
Keep tapping F8 to enter Safe Mode as the computer is starting.
Once you are in the Safe Mode then go to the following website and download, install and run the FREE Microsoft Safety Scanner.
It will remove the virus, trojan, worm, etc from your computer.
It may take quite a while to scan and repair your hard drive, it depends on the size of your hard drive.
Once the Microsoft Safety Scanner is completed running, it should have removed the virus, trojan, worm, etc. from you computer, but if it didn't remove the virus, trojan, worm, etc. from your computer then it will give you an option to connect (real time) with a Microsoft professional (FREE) and he will take over control of your computer (with you permission) and finish the removal process.
Please take time to rate me

Window hanging

Wait a few minutes for the non-responding program to start responding again. Be patient and give it some time. This is the easiest way to salvage any work that you did not save before the freeze. If, after waiting, the computer does not unfreeze, move to the next step.
Press and hold the "Ctrl", "Alt" and "Del" buttons in that order. This may unfreeze the computer, or bring up an option to restart, shut down or open the task manager. Open the task manager and note if a program is listed as "not responding." If there is one, click that program title and click "end task." The computer will end that task and break it out of the freeze. If this does not work, open task manager and go to "processes." Look for a process toward the top of the list that is using a large amount of resources. The number next to the process indicates how much of the resources are being allocated for that program. Pick one with the highest number (towards the top of the list) and choose "end process." If your computer still is not unfrozen, move to the next step.
Change the power source of your laptop. For example, if the laptop was plugged in to the wall, remove the plug and allow it to run on battery power. If this does not work, proceed to the next step.
Remove any devices, such as thumb drives or memory cards, that are plugged into the laptop. If this does not unfreeze the computer, move to the next step.
Close the lid of your laptop. Open the lid again. This may snap the computer out of its frozen state and back to the login screen. It may also put the computer into hibernate mode. If this does not work, move to the next step.
Hit the power button. This might bring up a menu asking you if you want to restart or shut down. At this point you will need to restart or shut down the computer. You will most likely lose what you were working on, unless the program has a recovery process to save your work if this situation arises. If the menu does not pop up, hold the power button until the computer shuts down. Wait 30 seconds, then boot the computer up again

Hi. my computer won't log off, shut off, or let me close a tab/window What do i do??

press the Ctrl+Alt+Delete at the same time... depending on the computer and its age varies how long it will take to bring up this "task manager" window. Then you can click on the program thats open that locked your computer up and click "end task" to force it to close. Or you can simply press and hold the power button on the comp and force a shutdown but then you can lose anything you were working on that you didnt save. Simply restart it after it shuts down. Good Luck

When I go to START and SHUTDOWN instead of shutting down like it use to do, I get a message instead that announces the programs that are still open. I would just like for it to shut down like it use to do.

Hello,

you are getting the message because probably you did not close opened programs or web page before you attempt shutting down.

Check your task bar and make sure all opened programs/application are closed before you shut down your computer.

This is all you need to do for your computer to shut-down in its normal way.

Also to be sure all programs are closed, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard and task manager icon will pop-out. Then you can close any opened program from there.

Take care.

I keep trying to quarantine then delete issues with webroot anti virus but my computer keeps freezing up and won't do anything, when I cont. alt delete, it says task manager has been diabled by...

Sounds like you have spyware or a trojan rather than a virus. You can try a restore point if there is one or you can try SPYBOT to see if it can delete it effectively.Webroot is probably causing the freezing from not being able to shut the program down first then eliminating it or its not made to really get rid of spyware/trojans/worms etc at all. There are very few Anti-Virus-Spyware removers that actually work as well as they are advertised.

Why does my computer keep slowing down?

The problem is Firefox...it is a resource hog and they have to fix it. It will not release the ram it allocates for itself even after you shut the program down. You can actually hit Ctrl + Alt + Del and bring up the task manager and go to processes and find firefox there and shut it off. My honest opinion is use Google Chrome...it uses very little resources and is the fastest browser out there and you can import all your favorites, etc. Using firefox and watching videos will bring a decent system to its knees.

Instantshare keeps popping up on my computer as soon as I turn it on & I can't make it go away or turn the computer off unless I pull the battery. It started when I down loaded advanced optimizer from the...

All the start up item's are taken out of the registry, you can try doing a registry clean to see if it remove's this item during start up or, you can also disable program's at start up by going to the start tab at the bottom and clicking on it, then go to run, type msconfig in the run box, then click on ok, it will bring up a system configuration utility, there should be a tab that says start up, when you click on that tab it will bring up all the item's that run at pc start up, if it's not shutting down properly you may want to do a security scan, sometimes when a pc does not shut down right away it's because a program is still running in the background, that program need's to end it's process before windows can shut down. Try using (ctrl, alt, del) to bring up the task manager, check to see if there's any application's running.

Computer Keeps Shuting Off/Battery is Useless

Try running a good malware program like AdAware. Often these spyware programs can driver your processor to 100%, causing it to heat up too much and shutting things down. Once you have the anit-spyware loaded, bring your system up in safe mode. This will allow the spyware to search the hidden partitions on your fd, along with the rest of the disk.
