Even after setting the refrigerator in between 1 to 3, still ice is forming on the vegetables, ultimately rottening them. what should be done in this case to stop the rottening of vegetables.

check defrost terminator and defrost timer

Ice at the back of refrigerator section is usually due to a fan there that has become stuck, little fan like 2 1/2" or so, the fan circulates cold from the freezer into the refrigerator. If that cold air is not moved through than it will form ice there from moisture in the air of the refrigerator section. I have had that problem a couple times, could be from something pushed against back wall and got n the way of fan blades causing fan to stop.

Did you clean the drain hose with boiling water? Pouring the boiling water will certainly get rid of the ice build up inside the hose - Ice forming there can also be as a result of the Defrost Element, or Defrost element sensor. Might consider looking at that too. Regards - J.Q

Make sure that the compressor is cutting off at the set temperature and is not cooling beyond.
If Ok then the second part is the leak, check if the condensation is happening into the vegetable section, isit due to constant use, the door is open . now make sure that the tray is cleaned and put on once again to check the water collection.
Look for leaks , if so plug them but it can be condensation, set the fridge temperature lower and make sure the freezer frost is not coming over.

Emptied drawers and cleared the drain hole. Drawers were then refilled BUT MADE SURE THAT THEY WERE NOT OVERLOADED

theres a defrost control on the unit that is probebly bad. its in the upper right of the refrigerator aand depending on the unit is either solid state or mechanical

You have 2 dials in the refrigerator. One is the thermostat setting the cold temp in the freezer, the other is a damper that allows cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator. Set the thermostat to the middle then try closing down the damper, most say colder or warmer refrigerator. If the damper is closed and your refrigerator is still freezing, then I would guess that the thermostat is bad. A thermostat runs about 40 to 60 dollars wholesale. Retale should be about double.

Defrost system problem. Could be in heaters, defrost thermostat, or defrost timing circuit. Freezing in vegetable section is due to air back flow related to frozen evaporator coil in freezer compartment.
Colder air settles and warmer air raises.

Ice maker problem is separate. Bar up engages micro switch that is supposed to shut it off. Bad micro-switch?

If the frost build up is on the back panel of the freezer then it has a defrost problem which causes a no cool situation. Let me know more about this frost buildup and what you have done.
