We keep getting an error message 714. The manual says that it is related to networking the fax machine. The fax machine is NOT on a network. I hit stop and it goes away. I can send out faxes. But the error message comes up and I think it keeps faxes from coming in. How can I get rid of the error message?

error 350 means a disconnection, from your machine to that of the remote fax machine. Disconnection can either come from a power shortage, defective or not so good telephone lines, a call-waiting mode on the telephone, a defective fax machine or manual interruption.
the Xerox error code 026-714 means that the printer cannot access a remote proxy-server. if the printer has been configured to use this remote proxy instead of your local one (or none at all), none of the mentioned network functionalities will work supposedly.
First off can you ping the printer?
Then make sure in your network settings you set the printer for a manual or static IP address so it is not changing on you.
Try turning off any firewalls you have on your computer or network. On a firewall, you can ping the printer but it will not sent print data. You can write the IP address through the firewall to allow printing.
Log onto your web browser and type in the IP with the firewall on and see if you can see the printer. Then shut off all firewalls and do the same thing.
Also see if the printer has an IP filter enabled, that will stop it from printing also.
The error keeps flashing and the machine will not work. The error reads, "check cover/cart". We put the cartridge in and out about 10 times and the same error message keeps flashing. the fax machine is still not working. Help!
