Can I run auto program on my Sony KV-13M42 without a remote?

This is unlikely to work, although I do see the remote has a VCR/DVD Source button.

The Sony KV-36HS510 has an Auto Setup function for the channels.

1 Press POWER to turn on the TV.
2 Press TV FUNCTION on the remote control.
3 To continue running Auto Setup, press CH+. To exit Auto Setup,
press CH-.

Auto Setup automatically creates a list of receivable channels. When
finished, the lowest numbered channel is displayed.

To reset the TV to factory settings
1 Press POWER to turn on the TV.
2 Hold down RESET on the remote control.
3 Press TV POWER on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then back
on.)
4 Release RESET.

Cannot be done on this model without the original and correct remote.

Cable direct to coax fitting on rear of set, in menu set to CATV/cable, and auto program---any channels it misses or you do not want you can in same menu manually add or delete one at a time with the sets remote.

You have not cleared the number of programs tuned in the auto mode,if only one program is tuned than only remote or TV will will not change channels,check by tuning with cable connection with multiple programs,you will get the solution.

You can autotune your Sony TV without a remote control. Fist connect it to an external antenna or cable whatever may be, to its antenna socket at the back side.

After you have finished connecting your TV, you can use Auto Program to set up your

channels. During Auto Program, the TV will automatically search for available channels and
program receivable channels.

[1] Press POWER button on the TV to turn it on. The Initial Setup screen appears.

[2] Press CH+ button on the remote control or on the TV front panel to start Auto Program, or press CH-- button to exit.

The Initial Setup screen appears each time you turn on the TV until you perform Auto Program.

To perform Auto Program again

1 Press"MENU" button on the front panel of your TV.
2 Press "RIGHT ARROW button to highlight Channel Menu.
2 Press DOWN ARROW BUTTON to highlight CABLE or ANTENNA AND PRESS [+} to select.

4 Press UP arrow or DOWN arrow to highlight On or Off according to how you connected your TV. Press [+] to select.

Try a hard reset.

you need to replace filter capacitor from vertical section area and horizontal section area. i already encounter tha kind of problem and fix replacing vertical section capacitor.

That doesn't sound quite like the usual procedure for programming a universal feature on a remote. Should have to put the remote in TV mode, then press something to get it into programming mode, then put in the code for your particular TV.
