I have the identical problem but I have already checked the lens cover and tried several shooting modes. The screen is not"black" as though it were turned off. I can turn it off and the screen does go black. I think that the image sensor may be dead. Any ideas?

Does the play back show any of the pictures you have taken before? are you sure the little lens cover is opening? there is a shield that closes down to keep the lens protected from debris and finger prints. Sometimes they can get jammed and not open. Tap on the front of the lens see if it opens. Switch it to auto mode if its not in auto mode.

Olympus 770sw camera. no image on lcd when taking photo

The issue you are experiencing with your Olympus 770SW camera, where the LCD screen is not showing an image when attempting to take a photo, could be related to a problem with the camera's display or image processing.
Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the camera's settings: Make sure that the camera's display settings are set to show the live view when taking a photo.
  2. Check the LCD screen: Make sure the LCD screen is clean and free of any scratches or cracks.
  3. Check the camera's firmware: Make sure that the camera's firmware is up to date.
  4. Check the camera's battery: Make sure that the camera's battery is fully charged and properly inserted into the camera.
  5. Check for physical damage: If the camera is not under warranty and you have the technical knowledge, it is possible to check the internal processing and the LCD screen for any physical damage.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to contact Olympus customer support for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose and fix the issue, or tell you if a repair is needed.
It's important to note that the Olympus 770SW is an older model camera, which makes it harder to find replacement parts and professional repair services.

No image is captured by the screen itself (LCD screen works but completely dark).

Did you try pressing the display button several times? in both viewing mode and record mode? Cycle through all display modes, s you get used to the button, so it does not trow you off when it happens again.

Late display of picture in lcd in d90 camera what is the trouble in camera

This may be due to a slow or faulty memory card. If the card is damaged, etc. the camera may be "hung up" trying to transfer the image from the buffer to the memory card. Only after this process is complete, can it attempt to display the image to you on the screen. After the images are on the card, and you want to display one or more, the whole process begins again with the camera trying to read the data from the card to be displayed on the screen.

Try again with a new / different card. Be sure to FORMAT the card in the D90 (not in a card reader / computer, etc.) prior to taking any photos.

If you still have problems, you may need to send the camera in to Nikon Service for repair.

Hi, I have a Canon IXUS 95IS camera.. For some reason, when I attempt to take a photo, the LCD screen isn't displaying what is actually in view? In movie mode it comes up on the screen but when i flick it...

Ah yes! you have pressed the display button. Turn the camera on and you see the icons in the display, look for the Disp button and press it, the display will cycle through its modes icons, black, image and icons.

Olympus Fe-4000 screen is completely black no image available

Stephan is exactly right. I have a FE-4000 and the LCD screen is most likely dead. As Stephan said, the screen should be replaced by a professional.

Cheers to all

Poor image quality

hotoPC 650 captures images in 24-bit color (16.7 million colors). Your pictures will not display maximum image quality if your monitor or computer's video controller doesn't support this color depth. Additionally, if your pictures are taken in 1154 x 864 mode, try increasing your video resolution above 640 x 480. You may need to upgrade your system to achieve the best possible image quality. If your pictures look better on the screen than when you print them out, you may need to upgrade your printer. An EPSON Stylus ink jet printer, for example, provides excellent image quality. If you used drag and drop to insert your pictures, they may appear grainy. Try importing them into your documents instead.
