Question about Philips Magnavox 20MS233S 20" TV
Has it been moved latley? try to unplug it over night then try it. Sometimes they need to be reset. Some tvs go threw a test phase and need to do it a few times. If it has taken a fall it could be damaged or somthing may have come unplugged internaly. It may have over heated is it free from dust? electronics attract dust like a magnet. Is there any signs of somthing spilled on it? water damage?

The tv has not been damaged or moved. It has been left on all night long many of times. It quit in the middle of the night. It only worked for eight months and now it's been sitting in a corner for five months. I suppose dust could be a problem, but it's not that bad. The reset test has not worked. If you have any other info it would be greatly apprieciated or I'll turn it into skeet.
Thanx,Zach
turns on for almost a minute, then clicks off. will not respond to
any button pushes at all afterwards.
if it is unplugged for a minute, then plugged back in....the cycle repeats
what would that be indicative of ?
a bad capacitor? transistor?...diode? (zener maybe), or maybe a temperature compensating diode, i dont think its a resistor is it,...if
it was a resistor it would'nt turn on at all, right?
