The 9 flashes are the trouble sequence for Lamp or Ballast failure. Disconnect display power. let everything cool.

Remove lamp- without touching any of the glass-it'll have a plastic handle for handling the mount.
if you look at the tube in the center, check for a blackend ring around the base of it. Lamps should last 2-3 years.

If there are sounds of arcing from the area of the lamp when you try to power it up, your ballast is needing love or replacing.

discountmerchant.com has a good stock of lamps and PSUs.

DLP 65 in. wont turn on. Lights flash . Red light first followed by 9 green lights flashing-then shuts off.Repeats this pattern. My lamp is foggy but not blown. Is it the lamp? Lamp is 1 yr old.

While i don't recall that particular pro lemme alot of Toshiba sets had an issue with the ballast boars. Basically over time the solder connection s get hot and cool so much that the joints Crack and breal. The ballast board may need to be resoldered. If you choose to try this yourself...be advised there are very high voltages inside a tv that can seriously hurt or kill you.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

TV has sound but no picture

It is possible one of the internal fuses blew out.
It could be a bad horizontal outut transistor.
It could be a bad secondary of the power supply went bad
And many other things.
If it's just a fuse, it won't cost much, but a lot of them do not look like you would expect a fuse to look like.It might be a little yellow, green, or gray rectangualar box shaped part. :D

Toshiba 52Hmx94

How many times does it blink?
I replaced the ballast in my 62HM84 and it fixed it. The problem was TV would not turn On, Red light solid green light blinked 9 times then TV would try to restart. At first I thought it might of been the bulb, so I replaced it, same results. Next I replaced the ballast which is pretty easy, just take pictures before you remove the light engine so you can go back to the picture to verify the connections when reinstalling.

DLP TV turning on and off automatically - Mitsubishi WD-52327

1. Unit powers on and works properly for a while then shuts off with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 3. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977010 4. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977010 5. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 6. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if low or missing check C9A37 and C9A38 both 3300 UFD 10 V part # 181P732040 on the Power PCB part # 930B929001
