I have the same problem with a model 626. It seems the chinese
mfg to not believe in actually testing what they make over a period of more than one Chinese minute which equals 2 US seconds.

I have the same problem with my sherwood receiver, I turn it on and then 4 seconds later it clicks off. Nothing is hooked to it, not a speaker, cd,tape plater, etc. It started when I hooked up the speakers 8olm, and turned the sound to half way. How can that be repaired by me?

Are you sure you dont have a bad speaker cable? or a blown speaker? unhook everything from the receiver then try and power it on with nothing plugged in. One at a time plug each speaker up if its still working and hasnt shut off when all speakers are plugged in then start connecting each device (dvd, vcr, tape deck,) Some receivers have a blow protection circuit that blows like a cirquit breaker in a home if there is a problem. Maybe you have a short? blow speaker? hooking each device up one at a time starting from nothing will help you trouble shoot the problem. If it clicks off with nothing plugged in then the unit may need serviced.

Yb125 battery wont charge

Instructions
    • 1 Check the main power cord if the receiver fails to turn on. If it is unplugged or loose, securely plug it in to an electrical outlet. If this fails, try plugging the receiver in to another outlet. If the receiver starts, the previous outlet is damaged. Call an electrician to repair it. If this fails, try turning the receiver on with the remote. If this does not turn the receiver on, try turning it on with the power button on the receiver itself. If this works, change the remote's batteries.
    • 2 Leave the receiver in "Standby" mode if it immediately goes into "Standby" when you turn it on. With the receiver still in "Standby," unplug the main power cord. Wait for around 30 seconds, then plug the receiver back in.
    • 3 Check the audio cables if you experience sound issues. If they are loose or disconnected, securely reconnect them. If you still do not have any audio, press the "Input" left or "Input" right buttons on the front panel to select the appropriate input source. You can also set the receiver to automatically detect input signals and select the appropriate input source. To do this, access "Audio Select" from the main menu and select the "Auto" option.
    • 4 Try factory resetting the receiver if you experience persistent audio or video issues. Press the "Standby/On" button on the receiver's front panel. Press and hold the "Tone Control" button, then press "Standby/On" again. Select the "Preset" option, then choose "Reset." Press "Standby/On."

My reciever plays then cuts out

They don't overload from missing speakers. I'm curious, what buggered the one speaker?

Examine all of your speaker wires carefully to be sure no unintended contact is made between them and anything else.

Is "overload" being displayed?

“OVERLOAD” starts flashing on the display.

Speakers are overloaded because of high volume.

1. Press STANDBY/ON on the front panel to turn off the receiver.
2. Stop the playback source.
3. Turn on the receiver again, and adjust the volume.
----------------
Speakers are overloaded because of short circuit of speaker terminals.

Press STANDBY/ON on the front panel, then check the speaker wiring.

If “OVERLOAD” does not disappear after turning on the receiver again, unplug the AC power cord, then plug it back in again.
If speaker wiring is not short-circuited, contact your dealer.

Receiver stays on standby mode

Receiver either just stuck or held or having problem in amplifier output area.
Try to unplug it from AC outlet for couple of minutes and replug back in and power up, if works, fine and if does not, take it to local repair shop as it might requires some parts replacement in amplifier out area.

Receiver standby light,no power

WOOHOO!! I fixed this issue... same problem as everyone else has mentioned... to reset the Kenwood VR-606 receiver, unplug the unit. Hold the power button down and while holding the power button plug the unit in.
Say a prayer...
Then press the power button.
My display isn't working, but my speakers are working, and that's really all I care about right now... good luck to others!
